Rest Yourself River Ranch

Our stay at Rest Yourself River Ranch was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views of the property. Whether it was the peaceful river, open fields, or stunning sunsets, every part of the ranch felt like a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the biggest highlights for our family was the endless activities for the kids. Between the outdoor games, hiking trails, and wide-open spaces to explore, our little ones were entertained from morning until night. We were amazed that they went days without even asking for their electronics—a true testament to how much fun they were having! The game room was another major hit. It had something for everyone, from our 5-year-old to the adults in our group. Whether it was arcade games, board games, or just a space to relax and unwind, it became a favorite gathering spot for all of us. Evenings were magical thanks to the fire pit, where we gathered every night to make s’mores, tell stories, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It was such a special way to wind down after a full day of adventure. One unexpected bonus was having The Mineral Wells Fossil Park just around the corner. The kids had an absolute blast searching for fossils and learning about the history of the area—it was both fun and educational! We also loved how close the ranch was to downtown Mineral Wells. During our visit, we stopped by the Crazy Water Company to sample the famous mineral water, and we spent an afternoon at a DIY art studio, where the kids had a great time painting ceramics. Overall, Rest Yourself River Ranch was the perfect getaway for our family. It provided the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and quality time together. We can’t wait to come back!

The place is absolutely gorgeous! You definitely feel at home and at peace when you are there visiting. Everything is clean and beautiful! I would definitely recommend if you are wanting to get away and just relax for a few days!!! Also it is just right here close by but once you are there you feel as if you are far from the city!

What an amazing experience at this historic hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel truly welcome. The bedding was pure luxury—so comfortable and inviting. Don't let the 2-star rating fool you—this is a 5-star stay in every way. The only reason for the rating is due to amenities, as the hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant or bar, which impacts industry classifications. However, the hospitality is absolutely world-class. This is truly a hidden gem, and I can't recommend it enough!

My wife and I went here for a marriage retreat. The property is beautiful. It was an old dude ranch that was built in the 40’s. The guest rooms are in what was originally the stables. Really neat! All the comforts of home but the rooms are very small. Especially the bathroom. However when you are staying in something so vintage it really did not matter. The main lodge overlooking the river was spectacular. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Great getaway and beautiful river venue - good consideration for large gatherings close to DFW; Friendly and knowledgeable staff; however, we stayed on a Tuesday night and staff left at 5 so no access to recreation cabin, ice, lodge until next morning. Close enough to Mineral Wells to get dinner and drinks at the few places that were open on a Tuesday evening. Fishing dock was pleasant and strolling the grounds a unique experience. Bed just okay. Room and BR extremely clean and quiet. No need to purchase Crazy water #4 because the well water is easily # 5,6, or 7. Recommend for historical and remote natural aspects.
