I stayed at The Nest Hotel Palo Alto from April 1 to April 2, and I had a horrible experience, including a safety hazard with the blow dryer.
The lobby looked great—clean, cozy, and just like the website photos—but the room was a different story.
I stayed in Room 114 on the first floor, and I could hear EVERYTHING from the room above—walking, doors opening, shower noises—until 3 AM. Since my 5-year-old daughter had a medical procedure at 7:30 AM, we really needed sleep, but that didn’t happen.
On top of that, the room was not clean or well-maintained:
• Bugs on the floor and even in the bed
• A hair in the bed sheets—clearly not properly cleaned
• Hot water didn’t work—it was only warm at best
• Phone didn’t work—I couldn’t even call the front desk
• TV remote was greasy and dirty
The worst part? The blow dryer was dangerous. When I used it, the inlet ****** in my hair, burned it, and I had to pull it out. This is a serious safety issue, and I hope the hotel addresses it before someone gets hurt.
There was only one front desk employee, and while she was polite, she called me “Hey” instead of “Excuse me,” which felt unprofessional.
For the price I paid, this stay was not worth it. I do NOT recommend this hotel, especially if you care about cleanliness and safety.
