We were due to stay at this apartment (booked through ***********) in December 2022 until our flight from Manchester was cancelled after boarding on account of snow. At every step of the way I did my utmost to keep Las Lonja Homes (specifically Gaston) informed on the status of our flight - from boarding the plane to 3 hours later when we were finally notified of cancellation. Because we were unable to stay at the apartment through no fault of our own, I politely asked if they would be willing to honour our booking with new dates a couple of weeks later, having every faith that they would go some way to accommodate us. My partner & I are both long-standing customers of *********** and their clients have always been helpful in extraordinary circumstances. The reply from Gaston was nothing short of rude and downright unprofessional! Initially he suggested that I was lying (??!!!) and came back with the following response (and I quote); “Hello. Here is a flight from Manchester that has just landed. There are no possible changes, if EasyJet has really canceled your flight and does not give you options to come You should claim your stay here to them”. A bit dumbfounded, I sent Gaston a screenshot of the cancellation notification from EasyJet as proof, to which he further responded; “Ok , Everything you say is true but there is also an EasyJet in London this afternoon that they say offered you and you rejected it. I understand that if you claim EasyJet. They must be responsible for these expenses. Try to Speak with them“. Firstly, EasyJet did NOT offer us a London flight and we did not refuse it. The flight from London that same day was at 15.15 and we didn’t actually exit Manchester Airport until 11.30 which would not have left anywhere near enough time to travel to London! Secondly, it is not the responsibility of the airline to compensate for lost accommodation costs in the event of adverse weather. More importantly, the representative of this accommodation (Gaston) accused us of lying and then proceeded to fabricate a story about us refusing an alternative flight! When we arrived home my partner complained to *********** about our treatment and they agreed to speak to La Lonja Homes with a view to amending the dates. At first they said they would but came back with a further message (after speaking to the manager) to say that they wouldn’t. Please think twice before booking this accommodation, as they are not open n the slightest accommodating!
