The St. Regis Aruba Resort

Amazing location and property.

This is not a St Regis. I stayed at the St Regis in the Maldives, and this is nothing close. Yes, it has only been open 3 months, but yo can already tell that it should be a JW Marriott. Firstly, the hotel uses cheap materials such as thin doors in the rooms, cheap toilets that break repeatedly and cheap furniture. Secondly, it is done in neutral colors, so it could be anywhere. Not a beach theme, at all. The pools are not heated so only children will swim in the. The Marriott Surf club has heated adult pools. There are no cushions on the chairs, as there are at the Ritz and Bucati and Tara. Most importantly, the service is really poor. Everyone is friendly, but the service is really slow, and when you are serving a $240 porterhouse at your signature restaurant, it should be perfect.. I do believe that Marriott will rebrand the hotel as otherwise it really cheapens the St. Regis brand. Most importantly, they do not understand service recovery. At a Ritz, when a mistake is made, the employee can take care of it on the spot, whereas at this hotel, they must go through several layers of management, and when they get back to you the next day (not the manager by the way - they void interactions) the compensation is too little and too late. The $100/day resort fee on top of the $1200/night rate is an insult. Stay at the Ritz, not here

The worst check out and conciare service ever experienced. Asking questions and not receiving any answer, creating problems instead of solving them.. I couldn’t believe this kind of behaviours at St. Regis. First time in a St.Regis resort and never more in the future.
