Very nice experience, great host and history of them as owners. Building has carisma. All worked well. Nice breakfast included.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending 3 nights at the B&B hosted by Manlio. Our room had 2 beds...a queen size equivalent and a twin with an en suite bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable with memory foam mattress and pillows. Manlio helped carry up one of our luggage pieces the 3 flights of stairs and I was very grateful. The apartment was the home of his mother and his childhood home. The breakfast was cappuccino, fruit, yogurt, assorted jams and toast if desired, and beautifully filled croissants. There is one other room down the hallway without an end suite bathroom as well as a communal sitting room. We enjoyed speaking with Manlio and the other guests at the breakfast table before starting out the day with good suggestions. We highly recommend this perfectly positioned and very quiet place to stay while in the old section of Palermo.

Très bonne adresse, idéalement placée, très calme, dans une belle demeure. Nous avons eu plaisir à converser avec Manlio le propriétaire qui est, par ailleurs, de bon conseil pour les visites et la restauration....,............... .........

Visitare Palermo in 3 sapevamo che sarebbe stata dura ma grazie ad un amico abbiamo trovato posto in un accogliente e grazioso B&B al secondo piano di un signorile ed antico palazzo a pochi passi da via Roma nel pieno centro della città, un vicolo silenzioso ma sicuro, tempestato di negozietti di meccanico di biciclette...non ne vedevo da 40 anni. Il Beb si presenta finente ristrutturato ed arredato, con due ampie camere da letto (una con letto matrimoniale a baldacchino e una tripla) che abbiamo completamente occupato, inoltre c'è un piccolo soggiorno ed un'ampia cucina. Manlio, il padrone di casa, pacioso e indiscreto è stato in grado di darci tutte le informazioni utili a visitare la città e con le sue abbondanti colazioni ci ha permesso di cammino nate per molte ore senza sentire la fame. Una persone veramente gentile e garbata. Pulizia e cambio quotidiano della biancheria sono stati puntualmente eseguiti. Che dire ....uno spettacolo

Nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup d'attention et de gentillesse par Manlio, le propriétaire des lieux et avons séjourné 3 nuits dans la chambre triple. Celle-ci est vaste et confortable, et décorée de manière originale. La chambre comporte une salle de bains et elle est complétée par un espace commun agréable et une belle cuisine dans laquelle les petits déjeuners sont servis- juste parfaits, avec une mention spéciale pour les cornetti excellents. Enfin, tout est très propre et à courte distance du centre historique, mais étonnamment calme. Nous recommandons aux couples à la recherche de calme, authenticité, et proximité du centre de Palerme. Ottimale !

An excellent host. Gave great advice on what to see and where to eat. He also chatted about live in Palermo as an Inhabitant. The Room in a Palazzo is simply awesome. The building is ancient with big pompous entrance stairs and an impressive overall look and feel.

Manlio is a great BnB host - he's a good communicator, is quick to offer assistance and seasoned local advice and chatting with him over coffee + breakfast (presented with such care) is a very good way to start your day. The location of La vie delle biciclette is fabulous - so close to the central railway station, via Roma (with its supermarkets, ATMs etc) and Via Maqueda one of 2 main pedestrian streets in central Palermo which leads to Quatro Canti, which was at the centre of everything I planned to see in Palermo. My room was absolutely charming - a 4-poster bed, soft linen, large wardrobe and views over the rooftops to domes and church spires. The decor of the whole property is really charming and colourful. The narrow laneway is safe, if a little intimidating at first. My lasting impression is how special it was to stay in the family home where the host was born (quite a few years ago, I'm sure he won't mind admitting). This former palazzo still has so much character and history and was a wonderful base for my time in Palermo. Thank you Manlio. Your efforts and lovely home were most appreciated.

This was the perfect place for our exploration of Palermo. A lovely appartment in a palazzo with spacious courtyard and grand flights of stairs, and Manlio was the perfect host, giving us lots of advice about what to see and where to eat, while also serving us a delicious breakfast. Thank you!

Condivido con i precedenti recensori quasi tutto ciò che hanno scritto: posizione strategica della casa, gentilezza e disponibilità del proprietario, Manlio, colazione extra lusso. Vorrei precisare però, che questo appartamento, bellissimo centralissimo, si trova al piano, forse, secondo?!? Cioè devi fare circa sette rampe di scale per arrivarci, quindi portatori di disabilità motorie avrebbero difficoltà ad arrivarci. La camera matrimoniale ha un bagno dedicato fuori della stanza, cosa che era stata dichiarata, però almeno nel mio caso, non è stato specificato che la sala da bagno si trova nella terza stanza dopo la camera .... per cui, se di notte ti scappa forte, devi correre e considerando che attraversi il corridoio dove si affaccia un'altra camera, devi anche avere una mise adeguata.
