Atostogų Parkas Hotel

We stayed at Atostogų Parkas for one night and really enjoyed it. The log hut was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. One small thing to note – if you’re celebrating a special occasion, you might want to bring your own champagne flutes or wine glasses, as none were provided in the house. The surroundings are beautiful, and it was a lovely bonus that accommodation includes 3 hours of free access to the swimming pools and sauna. The whole place has a unique charm and really reflects the spirit of Lithuanian culture. It can be a little pricey, especially during the summer season, but overall it’s a lovely place and we would definitely recommend a visit.

For 200 eur a night, we expected a lot better. Some issues we encountered: We arrived to our family suite while it was 35c outsite. Inside the suite was not much different, so noone had bothered to cool the room before guests arrive. We turned on the aircos, but they were small units struggling to cool a large suite. There were simply not enough units, and the area with a bed up the stairs stayed horribly warm the whole time. So the people upstairs had the choice of be too warm, or still be too warm but slightly less but with insects from the roof window. We were told the pools closed at 22:00 by reception. At 21:45, we were told by staff that we had to leave because it was closing. We arrived later in the day, and accounted for the pool closing time based on what reception told us, so we had expected to get a good 30 minutes in the pools, instead we got 15. Just tell customers the actual time, or adjust when your employees shoo everyone out. Bedsheets were hard. I have never before encountered this at a hotel. Some fabric softener is due. The amber sauna had an additional charge, with a rotating metal gate. It's ridiculous to ask extra in a paid resort, plus if you want to go again you have to pay again. It was not that impressive to pay extra. Several instances of unfriendly service. One receptionist acted like we were a nuisance when we were asking about something we had reserved in our booking, another one was friendly. Catering staff also treated us as a nuisance when we approached them late evening, but they were all clearly still making food, and they did make our food in the end. We were from a neighboring country, but spoke English, perhaps locals would fare better in treatment.
