Church Farm Haven Holiday Park

So booked a stay here for the august bank holiday we have stayed here twice before and have have enjoyed or stay.However on this occasion it was horrible took ages to find our caravan as it wasnt on the road name we were given eventually found it and upon entering it was a different caravan to the one we had booked. We booked a two bedroom caravan with a pull out bed in the lounge for me .We were given a 3 bed caravan double room with on suite 2 single bed rooms for kids and no pull out bed in the lounge.Went to reception and explained we were told in one of the single bedrooms there was a pull out bedframe with mattress to make it a double there was but the frame was just another single bedframe and upon pulling the mattress out it was stained and wet and stank of urine!So had to go to reception again! And both times i explained we had been given a van that we hadnt booked was told they cudnt move us as the site was fully booked but was told they would bring a new single mattress.After over 2 and half hours no mattress so i had to go to reception again!!eventually a mattress was brought but it was a different thickness and size for the frame and as soon as you moved in the bed it separated i had 3 nights of horrible sleep come on haven you are a big company you need to do better wont book with them again

We have just got back from a weeks stay at Church Farm Site and we have had a fabulous time, caravan clean, everything you needed in the kitchen, car space in front of the caravan, we had a silver van and knew we had to bring extra towels and extra bits for the kitchen as this is our 4th year with Haven, different sites and will try another next year as all holidays have been great, this year weather was terrible but just got on with it. My son and his youngest daughter (4yrs) wanted to spend one night with us as a treat, as she was starting school, I went to reception to ask and they couldn’t be more helpful if they tried and the same with the staff in the swimming pool and the arcade. Our only gripe was that we thought the bar prices were a bit high for a family holiday, so we didn’t spend a lot of time in the bar or restaurant. But we will book again for next September maybe some other one of your sites as plenty to choose from.

I had booked a 3 bedroom, silver caravan for 3 nights. We received our arrival time a week before, which was 2pm-3pm, and that we could arrive 2 hours before this to enjoy the facilities. We arrived at 2pm, and decided to get a late lunch before heading to our caravan as we were greeted on arrival and told they had until 3pm to ensure it was ready. We finished lunch at 230ish, as service was super quick and we were starving so shovelled it down. Arriving at our caravan it was still all locked up, I thought maybe I was in the wrong place so queried it. I was told I was in the right place and the cleaner was on her way. She arrived at 245. We had swimming booked at 4pm so waited to access the caravan to get changed. At 345 I asked how much longer it would take and she said likely another hour as previous guests had left it in a big mess. Not her fault; but also had it been cleaned before my actual arrival time it wouldn’t have been an inconvenience. I decided to take the kids swimming whilst waiting and managed to dig our costumes out of the cases.. maybe I should have been more prepared for the inconvenience and had them in my handbag on arrival to the pool I was told we couldn’t access the pool as we didn’t have our play passes - which were due to be left in the caravan for us - which I was yet to have access to! I was clearly frustrated and explained to the pool staff, who did let us in as they could see I had pre-booked. The pool was ok, very small, dated and could do with some TLC. There is one flume which didn’t ever get too busy. My daughter cut her foot on the floor of the pool as it was damaged, but when raising this with staff they just seemed to shrug. There is an outdoor pool that is heated to 25° which the kids also enjoyed. You’re not supposed to switch between pools, there are signs saying this but everyone seemed to anyway. We finally got access to our caravan at 530, it was very spacious; and thankfully clean. The fireplace was beautiful but the remote was nowhere to be found so couldn’t actually use it. The beds in the main bedroom and one twin bedroom were lovely. But the beds in the second twin were old, stained and sounded like they’d break sitting on them. The shower served its purpose, but liked to spin around and not actually spray where I wanted it to spray at all There was plenty of kitchen stuff, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, cutlery - but no sharp knives for chopping. The entertainment was fabulous for the children, they loved it.. but staff made lots of comments to adults about being fed up of peak season etc and that didn’t sit right. There could be more evening entertainment for teenagers.. it seems to be aimed at tots; then primary age children, and then adults. The food in the restaurant was lovely, steak was always cooked to perfection, app is really easy to use and staff are amazing when it comes to allergies and dietary requirements.
