Claddagh Guest House

We were visiting our nephew and his wife and the Claddagh Guest House had been recommended to us by his parents. We checked out the reviews which are universally glowing. We had a top notch stay here. Mena, the delightful owner, embodies the warmth of authentic Irish hospitality. Our room looked lovely, in pristine condition, and with a very large beautifully tiled ensuite that would grace an expensive hotel. It had a great view of the extensive well-maintained gardens. Breakfast was superb. I went for the full Irish and it kept me going all day. There’s plenty of room to park and the number 15 bus which stops frequently across the road whizzes you quickly into the centre of Oxford. Thank you Mena, we’ll be coming back.

I had a last-minute need to be in Oxford for a few days, and I was fortunate to get a room at The Claddagh. Mena is the host and met me with a smile. Checked me in to a lovely room which is very clean and spacious...and a nice big en-suite! Mena offered to clean the room daily, and cooked me a warm breakfast every morning. If you have a need to be at one of the local hospitals, I highly recommend staying here. A 5mins walk away. If I'm in the area again, I will most certainly be coming back here. There is parking on site with a large gravel driveway. Overall, very good value, very clean and comforting.

You really do feel like a guest in the house of Mina! Well appointed rooms and property generally, great breakfast, engaging host. This sets the standard to judge others by! I understand that regular bookings limit the "casual" capacity Sunday to Thursday nights but all 5 rooms are generally available Friday and Saturday nights. If you want a stay in Oxford, try here first. Easy access off the Eastern by-pass and on bus route 15 from the centre.

Location a couple of miles from the city but there is a bus stop close by. Parking on site is a bonus. Shops and restaurants about 15 minutes walk. Friendly welcome, easy check in. Homely room with all you need for a short stay. Good cooked breakfast.

The Claddagh guesthouse was fantastic. Mena's warm hospitality and attention to detail made our visit memorable. The guesthouse was clean, well-maintained, and had a lovely ambiance. The host was very sensitive and helpful to those attending the hospital too. Highly recommend for a pleasant stay.

If you need a guest house in Oxford , look no further than Claddagh guest house . Mena, the proprietor, is the kindest host ever! Besides having a very clean house, she offers a lovely breakfast, changes the towels every day and cleans the rooms daily too. We were staying there for 11 days and felt like we were home away from our home because not only were we comfortable, but also felt safe and welcomed. I honestly cannot praise Mena enough for our stay there, because we had to be close to a hospital for health reasons and therefore it was important for us to have such a comforting place to stay in. You will definitely not be sorry you picked Claddagh guest house , 100%.

I stayed in this guesthouse because it was close to Headington Hospitals where I needed to attend training for a week. Excellent and central location for the hospitals in the area (5 mins by walk) as well as the historic city of Oxford (around 20 mins by car when no traffic). I rented a car (free parking available at the guesthouse) however its very easy to reach Oxford with public transport. Also close to Headington city centre by walk, with shops, restaurants and cafes around 10 to 15 mins away by walk. The guesthouse is small and offers breakfast only, however breakfast was divine - a proper classic English breakfast freshly prepared by the host herself, Mena, a very kind lady who made us feel very much at home. The rooms were very comfortable with all amenities, all details taken care of, and most of all spotlessly clean. All in all it was 5 stars for me and I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay here again if I ever need to return to the area

What a great little find this was, Mena was the loveliest lady, she made us feel very welcome . The room was spotlessly tidy, we were lucky enough to have a garden view that did not disappoint. As much love goes into the garden as the house. Breakfast was a freshly cooked to order full English, I’m vegi and was catered for as well, fresh pot of coffee, other options were there for the picking, delicious. 8 minute walk to Churchill hospital which was very handy, off road free parking. Bed made and towels changed daily. Thank you Mena for your kindness, you made a stressful stay in Oxford so much more bearable.
