Großartig! Wenn man sich kurz vom Schock erholt hat, dass man sich echt in keiner wirklich guten Gegend befindet, ist es ein tolles Hotel: sehr geschmackvoll renoviert, schöne Zimmer, tolles Restaurant, video-überwachter Parkplatz, zu Fuß ist man in 2 Minuten bei Bus oder Tram, um ins Zentrum zu laufen und auch für Jogger bietet der Park am Fluss, den man in 5-7 Minuten erreicht, einen schöne Runde im Grünen. Es ist ein Stadthotel, wer es wirklich ruhig mag, sollte sich was weiter draussen suchen, mit geschlossenen Fenstern kann man sehr gut schlafen, aber gekippt hört man Busse, Bahnen, Autos schon recht laut. Ostrava hat schon noch Ruhrpott-Charme, aber es war ehen auch jahrzentelang geprägt von Stahl-Werken und dreckiger Industrie. Wir waren zu Eishockey-WM da und fanden es rundum super, das Hotel hat noch ein Schwester-Unternehmen, keine 5 Min. zu Fuß von der Eishalle, auch ein kleines Hotel mit Biergarten und eigener Brauerei, dort waren wir nach dem WM-Spiel, auch das war super.

Pros: Excellent customer service from the reception desk, especially from Ludvik and Carina. Two very kind and very professional people. Any hotel in the world would be lucky to have these 2 superstars! Close walk to the main train station I requested a fan for the room weeks in advance and it was there as promised! Very impressive, great attention to guest requests! Quiet at nighttime to sleep Terrific power shower Very tasty breakfast buffet (other than the watered down juice, uncooked bacon, and runny eggs) with a good selection of items to start your day. Cons: No blinds or curtains on the room window No tea kettle or coffee in the room No fridge Back breaking beds :( Run down, dodgy neighbourhood. Bleach stains all over the carpets in the hallway and in the room. Carpets = Yuck! Wifi didn’t work at times. Not good if you have important work on-line to do. For those from North America, it’s comparable to a Days Inn, Travelodge, or Knights Inn. Not luxury, but good for a night or two. I still recommend though, simply because of the amazing Ludvik and Carina!

This hotel is an easy walk from the train station with trams nearby but know that if does NOT have an elevator. It doesn't seem to be in a great part of town. The breakfast was very good and the dining areas very clean. The room was large but did not have everything that was on our reservation. It was missing a desk and refrigerator. We were surprised that they did not clean our room but the person at the reception desk was very helpful.
