Nice hotel and good location! Rooms big and very comfortable stay close to train station just 15 minutes to walk

firstly be aware, there are no open windows so the air is being recycled and it’s not healthy or comfortable to stay in the room for long periods. the staff are hardly to be found, took ages to be seen to get checked in and every morning for breakfast i would have to wait a while for someone to cross my name off the list. there is no eggs available so that marketing option is a lie. the shower is not powerful at all. honestly the least you could have done is have windows that open even 5 cm, it’s so awful that’s there’s no fresh air at all. it’s really difficult for people like me who suffer with asthma and anxiety. there was only one person who genuinely seemed to care and that was the black lady chef (im so sorry i didn’t get your name) but i really am so appalled with this stay. was not worth anything over £100 and i paid over £200, i got mugged of my money.

Stay was at the poor end of OK. We have stayed here many times before but recently have been staying in the Swanley location, which is great and has really good staff. Unfortunately the decor and fittings in this hotel have deteriorated. In particular our bath/shower tap would not switch between bath/shower mode. By this time I had my son undressed ready for his bath so we just managed with it - why would we want to change rooms when we are unpacked and ready for bed. In addition some of the wall decor is peeling (kettle steam), there is some black staining in the bathroom ceiling from a leak and there is damage to wooden bedside tables etc. However what was worse was that when I complained about this in the morning and asked for a small reduction (was only looking for £5-10 for the inconvenience) the receptionist (Katrina) was very dismissive. She even went so far as to say if you came earlier we would have offered you free breakfast - talk about rubbing your nose in as it was after breakfast service hours. I then complained to premier inn customer service, who contacted the hotel I assume. The hotel lied and said there was no issue with the tap as they had tested it and dismissed the complaint. Appalling. So avoid this hotel - it is going downhill and the customer service is terrible, the staff will lie when contacted by premier inn customer service about any issues.

Stayed for 5 nights, the room was lovely and clean, nice and big, tv, tea and coffee making facilities, WiFi…the works. I was out for the majority of the day and had to have a letter sent to me, i spoke to staff and they kept it safe in the office which I really appreciated. I was helped to get a drink as I was in the beginning of a migraine which was brilliant thank you. My only negative, and it’s a minor one, is that the window didn’t open, it said on the window it was a non opening one so wasn’t broken but did make the room quite stuffy, I always have my bedroom window open at home, but literally that’s all I can say. I didn’t eat in the restaurant as I left at half 6 and got back at 6ish but used to live in orpington so knew where to go. You’re right in the middle of the high street so everything is in walking distance literally outside your door and , when it reopens, there is a sports centre 2 minutes to the right. Perfect. Definitely recommend and would 100% stay again.

The purple palace is what it is and was perfect for our needs. A bargain at the price we paid this time, although we have paid more previously. Breakfast was plentiful and hot, the room clean and had everything we needed for a quick one night stop over
