What makes a night's stay so special is the enthusiasm and kindness of the host, Jean-Francois. His wife Renee is a wonderful cook preparing regional food from local suppliers. We had a wonderful dinner with fellow travellers. Breakfast also had a very Normandy feel."

"Stayed here recently with a group. The room was small, the bathroom tiny. Not unexpected in France. However there was no aircon or fans (2 hot nights). The door to the balcony could not be secured and the safe would not work. On bringing this the attention of the staff they were kind but offered no alternative. The group dinner on the first night was lovely, as we anticipated, but was less than average on the second night."

"We had an excellent stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. We were drawn to this location because of the restaurant and we were looking for a place en route to Paris from Mont. St. Michel. We are very happy we chose this hotel. The room we had was in a new addition that overlooks a field and has private parking. It is up one flight of stairs without an elevator though, so that may be difficult for some. The room was large and modern. The other big draw is the swimming pool. It was wonderful to swim after a long day and before dinner. Very relaxing and enjoyable all around. Breakfast is included in the rate but we did not have it. Highly recommended!"

"The rooms are simply furnished and clean. Two of the rooms were on the ground floor, you have to go outside the hotel to access them. We stayed one night to celebrate two special birthdays, we had a lovely meal with excellent service, particularly the man who served us. The portions are large, more like you would expect in the UK than France. We had a special gateaux made for the occasion, which was delicious, they bought it out with candles and everyone in the restaurant sang happy birthday! Belleme is a quaint little town, but avoid Mondays as everything is closed, including the hotel, which opens at 6pm."
