Very clean, will stay again

Quality Inn Oceanfront, Ormond Beach Fl. was easy to find on A1A. At first sight it looked ok, but when you looked closer, the outside of building had seen better days. Staff were friendly, and efficient. Even thought the outside of our room looked dilapidated. our room was spacious and clean overlooking the ocean. Pool was clean and attractive. Breakfast was good. Even though it was a good location, I don't think I would stay there again.

This was supposed to be a nice birthday weekend getaway with my man that didn’t go as planned! Checked in on Friday evening around 7:30! The clerk at the desk was nice and friendly! She swiped my card advised it didn’t go through! Gave her back my card and she tried it again! Still didn’t go through! So I opened my account and saw that the charge did go through and showed her that it had! Remember this was the day of the global event. Maybe a glitch. No problem she said gave me my keys and that was that! Next day while out eating I get a call from the hotel saying I needed to come and pay for the nights stay. Huh?? No I already paid last night! Said I needed to come down well I’m not there. When will you be back? When I get back, what time is that gonna be? Umm I’m out and now trying to eat! Male clerk very rude! That was 11:49. At 12:30 the same rude man calls my phone again asking me again when was going to return and then told me the general manager said I needed to be there by 1. Huh? We were almost there! Came into the office and said I guess you are the rude person that keeps calling my phone! He proceeded to say that I needed to pay for the night and I showed him I had already paid for both nights via my account! He tells me that’s a pending charge! Well yes until Monday when it will post! He argued with me him and the maintenance man who was married to the owners! I had to call my bank and have them tell him exactly what I said! I was locked out of my room and made to feel like I was trying to not pay for my stay! I was disrespected and made to feel like I didn’t know what I was talking about! So we decided we didn’t want to patronize this place anymore and checked out! I will never recommend this place to anyone! And even though they may have updated their rooms, the bathroom had mold all over.

My husband and I stayed there for just 2 nights - we usually stay in South Daytona but thought we would give Ormond Beach a try. We thought it was great - great location, the rooms have been redone and are clean and spacious, we asked for , and got, a ground floor room so we only had to step out of the room and we were just steps away from the pool and the beach. The breakfast room is being renovated so there is a grab and go breakfast - it's more than anyone needs. breakfast sandwiches for the microwave, fruit, oatmeal, Danish or cupcakes, a fiber bar, and of course, coffee and water. I want to personally thank Jackie at the front desk. After we had gotten home we realized that we had left a cooler in the room. We were only home a little while when Jackie called to tell us they found the cooler. A lot of other places would have just kept it or thrown it away - but Jackie went out of her way to send the cooler back to us. I really appreciate the kind service and will definitely stay there next time we are going that direction... I have seen complaints about the renovation noise -- We only heard some banging during the day when we went into the room to change from the beach. There was never any noise early in the morning or late at night and during the day most people are either at the pool, beach, or sightseeing. No problem - when would those complainers like the work to be done?!? We were even able to see the rocket launch from outside our room....

I concur with the review by Angie J on February 15, 2024. We stayed last week for a single night in a one bedroom suite with ocean view on the 4th floor. The room itself was spacious, clean and well appointed. A/C worked great and the two queen beds were quite comfortable. Everything we needed was provided: toiletries, ample towels, hangers and drawer space in the closet, tissue, lamps and outlets next to the beds, two large LED TVs, plus kitchen amenities that you don't always get (e.g. paper towel, dishwashing detergent, sponge and coffee maker). As others have mentioned, two chairs in front of the room provide a lovely ocean view. There is a beachside pool (with separate kiddie pool) that looked well maintained and a beachside gazebo. The beach itself is clean and lovely. There are a Dunkin and IHOP nearby, within walking distance for some. Check in and check out were easy and painless. Free WIFI is provided along with a grab-and-go breakfast (i.e. because the breakfast room is being renovated). The elevator is full of carvings but, so what? It works and that's what's important. All in all, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our stay. Compared to other establishments in this area, it's great value and we would definitely choose it again.

This place is a DUMP. Stay away. There is ongoing construction that others have noted. How can a lobby take this long to renovate? We arrived late at night and found out that the water was not working in various rooms. The front desk attendant was kind enough to cancel our reservation. He was apologetic and way beyond his control. The hotel looks old and run down. The elevator is covered in hand carving and scratches you would expect to see in some seedy venue. Not typical of a Choice Hotel property and we suggested in a phone call to the company that they reevaluate their association with this location.

This hotel is directly on the beach and the rooms have a sunrise view of the ocean! Each room has 2 chairs on the shared balcony so you can sit and enjoy. Guest rooms have been recently renovated and were quite nice. We had a 2 queen room on second floor. We usually get a first floor room due to mobility issues, but there is an elevator so there was no problem. Hotel lobby is torn up for renovations, so there isn’t currently a breakfast room, but they had breakfast sandwiches and coffee that you could take to your room. What better way to start the day than to have breakfast on the balcony watching the sunrise!! Was told this will be a Comfort Inn when renovations are complete. For the price, would definitely stay again!

Nice quick stop! We stayed in a 1 king/ 2 queen room. Beds were comfy and clean. Room was spacious and jacuzzi tub was a plus. Beach was nice and quiet. Evening staff was nice. Could not check in until exactly 4 PM. Ate at Alfie’s… it was great! Grab and go breakfast was good (jimmy dean sandwich, muffins, nutrigrain bar, banana, oatmeal, and drinks). Hotel is under renovation but, it was not loud. Will stay again.

I have stayed here before with my kids. I like the location. They have added new beds very comfortable. I like pretty much everything though their are a few things that could stand some improvement. The few things that need improvement. The shower curtain won’t stay closed had to put the body wash we bought to keep it closed. Medium shower pressure but plenty of hot water. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work and that’s important. The toilet didn’t have a lid to close so it kind of reminds me of a gas station bathroom. I also like the option of putting my clothes on it as well. The Wi-Fi didn’t work correctly the box to put the password didn’t show and I had to guess where to put it in. Lastly they are supposed to be having the breakfast area open and for the last year. They are having problems with Choice hotels. That is important to have. I like the property and still would stay and I would have given 5 stars if those issues were resolved. I gave it average because of those. Staff is very friendly.
