Best Western Plus Midwest Inn

We liked Best Western Plus Midwest Inn because there were many good restaurants nearby. However, we thought that hotel needs to update its renovation because we notified that carpet needed to be removed because the wet swimmers walked through the hallway without towels. Breakfast was one of the best because it offered a wide variety of breakfast which you may select with flexibleness.

We came in and 2 people were asking for refunds because their rooms had mold, were dirty, stank, and overall bad. This was an immediate nope for us and we left before checking in, if you want to come here, think again and don’t come.

This is an updated older property that has been updated. They had an elevator. The Fitness Center was very nice. The pool area looked cute with the slides, water only 3' deep, but we did not use. We stayed 2 nights and it was close enough to a lot of things. We suggest staying on the M Street side, rather than the L Street side which was very noisy.

Sheets were dirty, room smelled really bad, room carpets felt wet and sticky. Halls smelled bad. This hotel need a complete renovation!

The staff were mostly friendly. The overall statement that would sum up my experience is this. An establishment can be judged by its appearance on the outside. It can be considered and confirmed once inside. This place either needs a serious overhaul and remodel, or needs to be torn down and rebuilt. - Parking lot and useless "islands". Only one elevator is broken and takes twice as long to fully close its doors before going anywhere. When we walked into the room the first time, there were strands of long red hair/brown hair in the bathroom floor. - There is no actual exhaust fan in the toilet/shower area. - The room smelled musty like the AC unit had not been cleaned in a while. The TV remote was dead and did not work. The TV did not work (power, but no way to control it). We were on the 5th floor with a 3.5-year-old, and every day/night, we had to get a rude awakening with the loud vehicles and emergency vehicles close by. The pool was gross and underwhelming. Also, the 2nd night of our stay, the police had to be called because a grown man in a CHILDREN'S THEMED POOL AREA would not get out of the pool and was causing issues. The pool had WAY too much chlorine. The "family" restroom/shower area looked like someone let a pit bull loose in there. Doors were smashed, and everything was unsanitary and wet. There were never ever enough towels, so we had to use our room bath towels. The ice machine on the 5th floor looks like it is growing black mold and had not been cleaned or sanitized since it was first installed (late 90's?). The fact that I had also signed up for the BW credit card and could not use it to check in with was very inconvenient and upsetting due to lack of ability or care to try. This was our first family trip to the Omaha Zoo and the only thing I can say was that the AC worked, and the beds were not uncomfortable to sleep on. Other than that, this place made me want to take three or four showers once I got home... I will not be staying here again.

I love this hotel and its perfect for families. There is a super fun pool area, very friendly staff and the rooms are so clean. I could not hear the neighboring rooms at night.
