Sahra Su Holiday Village & Spa

Stayed here for a week from 26/10 as a family of 5 - let's get a few elephants out of the room first: *Yes, there are lots of cats all over the complex so if u don't like them, don't come. *Yes, the food could be hotter but it was very tasty and a credit to all the catering staff who spent hours preparing it. *Yes, it is not exactly in the middle of everything but a short 200TL taxi ride takes you to Hisaranu, with its many shops and restaurants. As a family of 5, we thought we would have to order a 7 seater, however, the taxi had a "jump" seat in the boot so we were all able to get in. *Yes, karaoke is not everyones cup of tea but I thought that the entertainment was fabulous, from the traditional Turkish dancers to the acrobats- they obviously spend hours perfecting their routines and there were lots of open mouths, in awe at the amazing moves. *Yes, some areas of the complex could do with updating, the rooms aren't exactly 5 star but what they lack in their finish is more than made up for by the hard working cleaning staff, who quietly and conscientiously go about their business on a daily basis. A huge shout out to Sky and her staff in the Spa for the treatments that my wife, daughter and son received- an amazing 2.5 hours getting pampered was an incredible experience for them. Also want to say a huge thanks to Onur Dil, who so kindly replied to my message that I sent a couple of weeks before we went- my family were over the moon when they saw the Villa that had been reserved for us. We practically had a private pool at the bottom of our stairs. This was our first ever visit to Turkey and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Yes, the haters are always gonna hate , but our overriding memories will be of such hard working, friendly staff who went above and beyond to make their guest's stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. We have just returned home from Sahra Su and were extremely disappointed. Having read the reviews on TripAdvisor we expected so much more from our break. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere however on arrival the grounds beyond the gate were very well maintained. This has to be one of the few positives. We entered the lobby which felt like an old peoples home and checked in before being led to our room, the stairwells felt musty and smoky, the carpet on the floor was faded and worn and first impressions were not good. Upon entering the room we both looked at one another in disgust. The walls were marked and dirty, as was the poor quality furniture. Skirting boards half hanging off, doors all marked and chipped, lamps many and poor state - the entire room from floor to ceiling was grotty. We returned to reception immediately and complained and was offered another room. The staff member escorted us down, no apology or conversation and too busy on his phone - the staff seemed completely disinterested. The second room, whilst slightly better was still pretty poor and nothing like we saw on any of the images. The whole thing just needed a complete refurb. We returned back to reception again to voice our dissatisfaction and asked to be upgraded, the staff initially advised us there was no rooms before changing tack and telling us we could move for an additional cost of £20 per night!? Not sure why we would pay more for something sub par, when we told them it was not what was expected their answer - "what was you expecting for a 3* ?" Given the hotel is advertised on EasyJet as a 4* we were both a little taken back. The manager refused to help further, pretty much shrugging his shoulders - we advised we would inform easyjet which we subsequently did and raised a complaint which led to them later issuing us with a partial refund - nowhere near what we had hoped for. We went back to the room and unpacked, annoyed and fed up - thankfully we were only here for 5 days and at least the sun was shining. The resort grounds and gardens were well kept, as stated before this is a few of the positives. A detailed list of pros/cons we found are listed below. Pros ----- Gardens well kept Cats are friendly, well looked after and a bonus to any cat lover The sunshine (obviously not hotel specific) Food was ok'ish in terms of selection - listed as a pro since there are so few others Cons -------- Rooms are grotty, poor quality and badly needing a refurbishment Most of the staff are disinterested Breakfast - opens at 7:30am yet Omelettes not available until 8am!? Staff Service in the restaurant is hit and miss, the odd few are ok - most don't even get you a drink Some of the food is luke warm The toaster (of which there is one is half working) The coffee machines - worst coffee we have ever tasted, weak even as double espresso Cereals - Milk in cartons, left warm by the side of the cereals and bowls!? 4th visit to this beautiful hotel, staff all of you work so so hard to make peoples holiday special, special thanks to TEDDY in reception, FRANK in reception, onur dill the manager of the hotel, the lovely lady in the spa sorry i can’t remember your name, Ali on the pool bar and many many more, all the restaurant staff bar staff cleaning staff your are all lovely people… we have just got home yesterday and already booking again for next year… thank you all so much

Sahra su holiday Village &Spa is a brilliant hotel with all round friendly and very polite staff couldn't do enough for you they don't hassel you The cleansiness of the hotel was great food was great Now the spa staff was fantastic the women sky who is the manager was amazing very good deals from her u get very well looked after by her staff rated the spar 10/10 would definitely recomed this hotel as it is very relaxing calm and so many different pools to choose from Mt daughter loved it I would definitely be coming back here thanks to all the staff that make you feel very welcome and again thanks to sky at the anka spar

We've had a fantastic time, all the staff were amazing, so friendly, warm and looked after us so well. The room was more than comfortable, the food was great and we did some fantastic walks from the hotel. It was a lovely time of year to come. We hope to be back!
