Stayed in early February for a Babymoon, so this was very low season but it was so peaceful we enjoyed our stay. We did find ourselves running out of things to do in the general area (we did know the resort is a bit isolated beforehand) but even in Albufeira aside from the beach, it’s mostly pubs and restaurants - we’re happy we stayed for 7 nights. However there were some let downs that made my rating a 3 out of 5, for a 4* resort. Particularly as early Feb shouldn’t be a chaotic time of year for kitchen. Pros Entertainment staff were awesome, always just happy to be there and impressively speak a wealth of languages. We thought the music quiz would be usual pen and paper but it was done with a twist and we had such a laugh. Comfy beds with heating / air con. The grounds were tidy, the gardeners put a lot of graft in. Hair dryer and free safe to use in rooms. Rent beach towels and get money back. 5 min walk from your room to the cliffs and have a stunning beach view. Coffee and fruit juice machine are great. Sweet snacks at lunch (pastries / cake / pancakes) went down well with me Tasty fresh cooked meat and fish options at dinner TV had heaps of English speaking TV options Cons No ventilation in bathrooms so it stayed very wet and misty; meaning the mirror and plug socket wasn’t really usable. The other tall mirror in the room is stuck to the wall so made it difficult to get ready / do hair in a mirror. I’ve seen a fair few review mention mould - our room was recently redecorated. Food wasn’t well labelled at meal times, couldn’t work out what food went with what label sitting above it. Smaller people stretching over into the middle of the buffet counter and getting clothes / hair in the food was a bit grim. Items that I thought would be vegetarian didn’t say they were (e.g baked pumpkin). But green olives for example, that were marked vegetarian - looked like they were stuffed with salmon? One night there would be a nice vegetarian alternative option and the next night it would be meat or fish. As a veggie I found myself eating repetitive meals. (But my partner did really like the meats) Hot food (especially at breakfast) was nearly always cold. E.g Beans, eggs, mushrooms. Cold items (especially milk) were never as cold as they should be. On our last night I picked up a cake from the cold buffet and found it was covered in mould underneath. Took the whole tray to the kitchen staff to make sure nobody else took any, and regardless of language barriers nothing was said to me by staff after handing it over and saving their skins from a much bigger problem. No thank you or follow up. Particularly after the points above on food temps and labelling - this really made me feel funny about food standards and temperature control. Regardless that I was 7 months pregnant and a bit careful with food - the food aspect was always hit and miss but mould is unacceptable. Shop, indoor pool and alternative restaurants were clo
