Ocean Spray Apartments

Only great thing about this location is the view other than that it's a no go. Broken plugs, far away from stores and what not. Very outdated inside and out, rooms are dirty. Appliances are really old and dirty. We saw 2 roaches in the span of one day. Bed bugs. Planned to stay 8 days but immediately left the 2nd day. Sheets were dirty and stained toilet , etc. Do not believe some of the photos because I think they are a.i generated. Pricing is OK but its better to just spend the extra money for a nicer hotel with more accommodations. Only gave it two stars because the view and sounds of the ocean saved it, otherwise would have gotten one star. Also refusing to give us a refund for the nights we didn't stay.

The hotel is very basic and needs renovating Coupled with this need,the customer service is extremely poor. I spoke to a very unmannerly person who I later found out to be the manager at this property. This is not worth your money. Go elsewhere! I do not recommend.

There was a large group of us that stayed at this property as we were all there for the same event. I stayed at this property for two nights and three days. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a queen size bed and a garden view. Upon arrival at this property, I was surprised to see how dated it looked. The pictures on the Internet looked a little bit more vibrant than what I saw in person. Due to certain flight delays, I managed to get on an earlier flight to Barbados; therefore, I arrived much earlier than the official check in time. Rochelle was at the front desk when I arrived and graciously allowed an early check in (1.5 hrs early). I was very happy about this as it was a laboring travel experience, and I was ready to get a shower and relax a bit before the main event. Thank you Rochelle! Rochelle was friendly and professional. She answered our questions. She let us know that we can reach out at any time if we had any other questions or concerns, and she escorted us to the location of our room. There is an okay view from the balcony. It is called a garden view. You can also see the ocean in the distance. The apartments are not bad and served their purpose but they are pretty dated and do not include some of the standard items you would expect in a regular hotel. For example, there were towels but no washcloths. There is no ledge or area to put your soap in the shower. The water does get adequately hot for a nice shower. There is a kitchenette with a stove and refrigerator but no microwave. There are cooking utensils, plates, and cups in the room as well as some dishwashing liquid and a rag. There was no paper towel and also there are no phones in the room. The bed is a bit springy, and did not feel as stable with two people sitting or lying on the bed. The bed did stay intact though. All of us managed to get a good night’s rest for the entire stay. The place was as clean as it could be, but as I already mentioned, it is very dated and has outdated appliances etc. Some major renovations are needed to bring it up to par to standard accommodations across other countries. My overall stay was good as this property served its purpose, and Rochelle had good customer service.

Avoid at all costs. This hotel is disgustingly, misleadingly advertised and the staff are inextricably unhelpful. Upon arrival it was clear that our room was nowhere near the standard of those advertised. That state of the room was frankly shocking. There was no suitable lighting in our apartment, which resulted in my partner and I having to get ready for our evening meal in near total darkness. There were no working plug sockets in the bathroom and none, incredibly, in the kitchen (with the exception of the plug to which the refrigerator was connected) which meant we had to connect basic amenities such as the toaster and kettle on the living room floor. The air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms, a room which conveniently had a huge fan situated within which insinuates to me the management of the property knew there was an existing issue. The microwave did was completely broken. Overall the apartment was disgustingly dirty with questionable white stains on the living room sofa. The bathroom and kitchen were grimy and made for uncomfortable living. We stayed one night before complaining to the front desk of our experience. The staff were unhelpful to say the least and unintelligible to put it mildly. When we showed the manager, Rosha, the pictures of the hotel that were used to advertise she stated that the pictures were of one of their best rooms and, therefore, would not be representative of the room we had booked. I do not understand or accept this as a valid justification as to how we can be allocated a room that was so grossly and materially different to the representation on the website. We were offered no alternative room from Hotel staff. When we informed Rosha we would not be staying and that we wanted a refund she simply kept repeating that ‘the booking was not made directly with them, that she could not authorise a refund, and that her maintenance assistant Ravi would look in to resolving our issues’. The last point, in particular, was spectacularly unhelpful and made no sense whatsoever given our issues extended beyond anything related to simple maintenance or cosmetics of the apartment unless, of course, her thinking was a full renovation of the facilities could be completed that very same day. Nonetheless Ravi came up to the room where he proceeded to hit and slam the microwave in an attempt to get it to work and aggressively declared that our ‘issues were not issues’. We were left shocked and very perturbed at how the staff handled the situation and their unprofessional attitude. We left as soon as we possibly could. I then had to spend the majority of what should have been a day of our vacation attempting to find alternative last-minute accommodation, across the busy Easter holiday weekend. This came at considerable extra cost to ourselves factoring in fuel, data, phone charges, and the extra cost of more expensive accommodation. No refund or apology has been received from Ocean Spray Apartments. Stay aw

The Beach is lovely, however, it is in need of a very serious facelift, it is pretty far away from everything no , dining is available for miles, sorry I took no photos, I stayed only one night and slept with the lights on, just was not comfortable, there was a small store about a 10 min walk, I had a can of tuna and ate with my hands, just like a bot scout.also there is no front desk at night witch is located outside, you are on your own.

If you decide to Quarantine there for any financial reason. I could understand. but be prepared. As you can read the Bad review, i also experience them. I had to step out of my room, as for me to come there i had to wait about 1 hour before been able to check in the night before. and i have noone checking on me. I needed to know what to do. didn't know they have a whatsapp # until i find out online. Even after texting no answere either. Was starving with nothing to drink and nothing to eat. When to the breakfast area got myself a pancake and coffee ( by the way, press coffee is with ground coffee not whole coffee bean, just to say). I like the fact that Ocean Spray Apartments propose to tip the staff : but to tip you need extra, extra smile, extra pleasant..... but staff are expecting it. so for people who quarantine make sure you take your own thermometer ( they will charge you 20$ for it), make sure you bring your own food and water for at least few days before you figure out how to order food from the room, Lucky we have wi-fi. Yes, expect cleaning a bit the toilet, the bathroom and the kitchen sink. and if you book your room as you have no choice than quarantine for 4 days. book your room for 4 days, if you need extra extend. because they won't refund you if you leave earlier.
