Avoid at all costs. This hotel is disgustingly, misleadingly advertised and the staff are inextricably unhelpful. Upon arrival it was clear that our room was nowhere near the standard of those advertised. That state of the room was frankly shocking. There was no suitable lighting in our apartment, which resulted in my partner and I having to get ready for our evening meal in near total darkness. There were no working plug sockets in the bathroom and none, incredibly, in the kitchen (with the exception of the plug to which the refrigerator was connected) which meant we had to connect basic amenities such as the toaster and kettle on the living room floor. The air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms, a room which conveniently had a huge fan situated within which insinuates to me the management of the property knew there was an existing issue. The microwave did was completely broken. Overall the apartment was disgustingly dirty with questionable white stains on the living room sofa. The bathroom and kitchen were grimy and made for uncomfortable living. We stayed one night before complaining to the front desk of our experience. The staff were unhelpful to say the least and unintelligible to put it mildly. When we showed the manager, Rosha, the pictures of the hotel that were used to advertise she stated that the pictures were of one of their best rooms and, therefore, would not be representative of the room we had booked. I do not understand or accept this as a valid justification as to how we can be allocated a room that was so grossly and materially different to the representation on the website. We were offered no alternative room from Hotel staff. When we informed Rosha we would not be staying and that we wanted a refund she simply kept repeating that ‘the booking was not made directly with them, that she could not authorise a refund, and that her maintenance assistant Ravi would look in to resolving our issues’. The last point, in particular, was spectacularly unhelpful and made no sense whatsoever given our issues extended beyond anything related to simple maintenance or cosmetics of the apartment unless, of course, her thinking was a full renovation of the facilities could be completed that very same day. Nonetheless Ravi came up to the room where he proceeded to hit and slam the microwave in an attempt to get it to work and aggressively declared that our ‘issues were not issues’. We were left shocked and very perturbed at how the staff handled the situation and their unprofessional attitude. We left as soon as we possibly could. I then had to spend the majority of what should have been a day of our vacation attempting to find alternative last-minute accommodation, across the busy Easter holiday weekend. This came at considerable extra cost to ourselves factoring in fuel, data, phone charges, and the extra cost of more expensive accommodation. No refund or apology has been received from Ocean Spray Apartments. Stay aw
