Sky Corner Hotel

The room have strong smell of some kind of chemical or some kind of odor, smell totaly unpleasent. I was not able to breathe through my nose, I was coughing and sneezing. They said that all the rooms are booked and they cant change the room. They were not very helpful. Window was open for many hours and the door but the smell was still there. Hotel location in on the main street so its very noisy... They said that they have parking but thats far from the hotel and its some kind of old house in the small dark street not really safe to park and not so many parking places.

Pessima esperienza, abbiamo prenotato questo albergo molti mesi fa, la direzione aveva quindi tutto il tempo per informarci che, proprio la sera del nostro soggiorno, ci sarebbe stata una festa al 4 e 5 piano dell'hotel . Siamo stati informati di questa bella iniziativa SOLO prima di salire in camera per andare a dormire stanchi dopo la giornata di viaggio, ci hanno assicurato che la festa sarebbe durata fino alle ore 1 di notte ed effettivamente cosi è andata. Ovviamente prima di quell'ora la musica era talmente alta che non si è potuto chiudere occhio, ero anche preoccupata della stabilità della struttura vedendo le orde di ragazzi che salivano le scale per andare alla festa . Quindi, prima di prenotare questo albergo, accertatevi che proprio quella sera non ci sia un'altra festa , meglio se cercate proprio un altro albergo perché anche la pulizia della stanza lascava molto a desiderare. La colazione pessima , ci hanno fatto pagare anche il cappuccino.

We took a “triple room with city view” on a weekend rate, which is double the normal price. We were a family of 3 adults. We paid while checking in and when we got to the room, we were shocked to see that it was a queen bed with additional arm chair that extends into a lounge chair of some sort. This chair was old, unstable and unsuitable for an adult to spend the night on it. A small window opened and all we could see was an aluminum fence. We notified the receptionist that we want to leave the room and by the time we grabbed our bags and went down to the reception - she was “gone for the day” (however, a security personnel was conveniently present at the reception). To our disbelief, we couldn’t get ahold of anyone from the hotel. Literally NO ONE. It was so creepy! The security personnel called someone on the phone and told us that there are no other rooms and he cant do anything for us. We basically remained in the street. Of course we left the hotel and we tried to call them the next day to complain. A person called Tamara answered the call (rather irritated that we called) and said that she will call us back upon discussion which of course, never happened. They have never called, nor answered our calls or emails. I am writing this review as I would hate for your family to go through what mine did. There are so many honest and ethical properties out there who can provide safe and comfortable environment for you and your loved ones, but unfortunately this place is not one of them.

Notre réservation réalisée sur une célèbre plateforme n’avait pas été préparée et après de longs échanges à l’accueil, nous avons pu enfin intégrer notre chambre à la moquette en piteux état. Côté salle de bains, le ménage était loin d’être impeccable… En ce qui concerne la literie, vous disposez d’une couverture sans drap de protection (nous avons de sérieux doutes sur le fait qu’elle soit nettoyée après chaque départ). La cerise sur le gâteau : un groupe de rock a démarré un concert à 22h45 sur le roof top de l’hôtel. Depuis notre chambre située 2 étages en-dessous, nous avons dû endurer cris et musique endiablée comme si nous étions avec eux jusque 1h30… Après cette terrible nuit nous sommes allés prendre le petit-déjeuner dans une salle glauque aux relents de fumée de cigarette de la soirée de la veille, assis sur des fauteuils en « sky » de discothèque à la propreté encore très douteuse… Quelle déception de vivre cette expérience dans cette si jolie destination. Du gâchis…

I am going to start with couple of good things about Sky hotel. Location is great, hotel is close to old town and close to shops, restaurants and attractions. Breakfast is still good, delicious cheese pie, and various pastries, eggs and fruit and other typical breakfast food. Each year I stay in this hotel. Starting last year the quality started to get compromised but this year was extremely bad. Room #301 is large but has wardrobe in the middle of the room, it looks like was placed like this to create separation but it created eyesore. All rooms and hallways have carpet that us overdue to be replaced. Stains everywhere, hallways and rooms. Bathroom is small but functional however has broken fixtures and no room to place bathroom necessities. Soap dispenser in the shower is empty and the one near lavatory is broken, part is on the floor. Towel hanger is partially unscrewed and twists around, so try to balance your towel. Towels are not changed daily. There is little fridge that is so dirty that is health hazard. At this point I am very suspicious that bedding was washed. Curtains are not washed since hotel opened is my opinion. There is no iron so be prepared to wear your wrinkly clothes straight out of the suitcase. And if you book a room do not forget to bring lysol or any other disinfecting product. On the 5th floor there is a bar that on Saturdays turns into night club with extremely loud music so good luck sleeping. Receptionist advised that they are allowed until 1am but another source stated they have license until 2am. I tried to call receptions to check but the phone did not work. This night club is open to outside public, so loud young people will take the elevator up but are taking stairs on the way down and going into hotel guests areas, guest are not protected at all. This was the worst experience and I will not go back until management is the same.

WOW-didn't expect to find a place like this here in Lake Ohrid. A boutique hotel that wouldn't be out of place in Shoreditch or Brooklyn, with gorgeous rooms, a fantastic restaurant, and a rooftop bar with views over the lake that are to die for. The new owners were such wonderful hosts that I suspect I'll have to get my booking in now for next summer! They're also building out the spa, and I can attest to the skills of the masseuse...and the massage chairs! Wish we could have stayed longer, but already looking forward to next time. I'd add photos but I was too entranced by the light show (you have to see what they've done with the bar and restaurant lighting!) to take any! Yet another reason to go back.
