Decendants of Mr. Nathaniel Savory, one of the readers of 25 first residents in Chichijima who also met Matthew perry there run this hotel. Different from Ohmura where Ferry arrives and somewhat noisy, Okumura where they stands are very quiet but it takes only 15 minutes on foot to got to Ohmura and to Ogasawara Ocean center where you can see green sea turtles. A big brother takes care of reception and guided tour and a little brother is a restaurant chef. On the first day I had a diinner at a local food restaurant in Ohmura but was surprised by the high price(I can understand they bring in many products from Honshu which would be costly) and unfriendly attitude. So I had dinner twice in a roll at Pat Inn afterwards which was reasonbable and western style. I highly recommend this hotel.

I traveled with the Whitfield/Manjiiro Grassroots Summit to Chichijima. We were assigned different hotels due to our group, Our Leaders stayed at the Pat Inn and I stayed elsewhere, however, I have to give a reivew because Mr. Savory was so, so wonderful, giving our group tours aroundthe island, taking us swimming and snorkling, providing the equipent to do so. We all loved the barbeque too. I want to thank him and his family personally for the beyond wonderful experience of his beautiful Island and hospitality that went above and beyond! I did not want to leave there! I have my Mother of Thousands plant growing. It produced eight babies and I am so happy about that. Thank you so much, Mr. Savory and your family for your hospitality!
