Courtyard Ocala

Review is based on the arrogant and dishonest attitude of the staff who claim that they are powerless to change a reservation 5 days in advance and want to charge a $122 fee to cancel. We were going to make a change to another date due to a family situation, but at this point we will most likely just go to a different hotel. Marriott is obviously desperate for revenue and one has to wonder how long they will stay in business at this rate. It seemed odd that a Courtyard would be rated so low on TripAdvisor, but now it is making sense…

I stayed here to attend Sunshine Swimming Conference Meet and the hotel is very good location to the pool and different places to eat. Easy to walk to Sams club and a couple of other hotels. My room was clean, Wi-Fi worked well but it is a little dated and needs an update. The gym was missing a lot of dumbbells and had no work out matts. I am on the fence if I would stay here again since the gym was not well maintained.

The property feel like a Dateline episode could be shot here. It is very dated and filthy. From the staples holding the wallpaper up in the stairwell, the vintage microwave and fridge in the room to whatever is going on in the filthy fitness center…aside from the obvious lobby renovation this place is boarding on a 2 star. The walls are paper thin. I wake up to the alarm in both rooms adjacent to mine. The staff have been lovely and periodically cleaned the room but the overall investment from Marriott feels lacking. It served our needs for time at WEC but not somewhere I recommend unless being in the Cracker Barrel packing lot is a must have.

Room carpets are very dirty! They are blackish colored but you can tell where are the dirt piles! Management have not heard of carpet cleaning yet… Don’t get breakfast there! $14 for scrambled eggs if you lucky! $7 for eggs your way with the manager’s attacking attitude! 6:30 in the morning. You better of to get something elsewhere. People make this place undesirable, this manager’s attitude was unbelievable, like she never dealt with difficulties! And it was all her fault! Ordered what was on the menu, “eggs your way, sausage, veggies, toast “ Got the eggs , sausage patties, no toast, no veggies. Super disappointed asked for the manager she came out with an attitude, no apologies, no offer to correct mistake just plain out rude! Corporate really should look into customer service here…

Me, the missus, and our boy bunked here for our kid's swim meet at the pool nearby. Gotta say, we'll probably come back. Had a bit of a struggle booking through a group link, so I phoned the hotel directly. Luckily, Angie and Richard in reservations were champs, hooking us up with the group rate even after the deadline. The café crew were a hoot, especially this guy Andrew mixing up killer cocktails. And Kianna, she was on the ball early in the morning, all professional and friendly. Only gripe was check-in—this one front desk guy wasn't exactly thrilled to be there, gave us a bit of attitude. Other than that, everyone else we met was cool.

I just got off the phone with an agent at the front desk. I’m trying to book a room online and it’s freezing. She transferred me to reservations before I could get a word in, they digitally told me to make a reservation online, and I called the hotel back. She said she was very sorry but could not help me in any way with my problem. I am a veterinarian and travel to Ocala all of the time for business. This property needs to work a lot harder to deserve the status of Marriott.

LOUD! Here for work and pool open until 10pm with lots of screaming children. No respect for other patrons and no attempts to Successfully stop excessive noise. If you stay on the inner part over looking pool all nose echos up th hotel walls. If you stay on outer the highway is very noisy. Go elsewhere if you want a quiet place. Oddly gym is not opened until 7 am for whatever reason. Most other hotels have 24 hour access. Unclear why this hotel limits.

First and foremost, I checked in Friday they ran my card for $190 and I checked in. The blond headed woman who checked me in was just very rude and acted like she hated her job, and we were an inconvenience for her. The following morning before check out time I decided to stay another day. My daughter paid for my second night there and they charged her card $334. Not only had I NOT checked out yet, but housekeeping went into the room and cleaned it and took my phone charger, no one could find it or knew anything about it. The day of check out which was Sunday, check out time was @ 12. I packed myself up put everything in my car but kept my card and put a do not disturb sign on the door due to me being ill, I kept the card just in case I needed to get back in the room in case I got sick before leaving and the rest of the family were in their rooms getting ready to leave. One of my daughters saw housekeeping at the room and asked what she was doing and told housekeeping I hadn't even checked out yet! Glad all my things were in my vehicle already so nothing else disappeared. If check out time is 12:00 why are these housekeepers going into rooms that haven't check out yet and the excuse was " Sometimes people don't bring their keys back." Well regardless check out is 12:00 why are they in a room with a do not disturb sign on the door whether a key is brought back or not?! That is bad business and makes me not want to trust ever going to this Hotel again or even recommending anyone to go there.

The beds were very uncomfortable, the pillows were awful, the room was really small and outdated. The lobby area was updated and the bar area was nice but it is clear the rooms and especially the bathrooms were not updated!
