The Grange at Oborne

Stayed with my mum for a night. We had one of the new rooms which opens up onto the garden. It was beautiful, lovely walk in shower. It’s a nice touch to find games in the lounge area, we enjoyed a game of cards before getting ready for dinner. The meal in the evening was excellent. Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff

A wonderful, relaxed place to stay with outstanding customer care, staff are excellent, wonderful service, fantastic fresh, locally sourced food, beautiful surroundings...will be back! Thank you to all at The Grange for a lovely stay.

We sadly only stayed for one night. What a delightful hotel, with the loveliest staff and the coolest Cat. This hotel is in a stunning setting and beautifully designed with comfortable beds and above all spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent together with a quality breakfast, what else could you ask for. Will most definitely return when we are next in the area.

My second stay here - this time for my birthday. Very comfortable and spacious room, great location, lovely staff and great food. What’s not to like? Lovely to meet Neptune. Will be back and always recommend to others. This hotel is a true gem

Afternoon tea for 4 after son’s hockey match. Booked well in advance due to warnings of being very busy. On arrival we were the only people there. We were shown through to a table that was teak Formica finish with stainless steel tubular chairs. Wallpaper dark and weird. Staff absolutely charming and a properly delicious afternoon tea, with very generous portions of clotted cream and jam to go with the fabulous scones. Sandwiches first class, - cheese and tomato (not my favourite), ham, smoked salmon and egg. Also a good selection of little cakes. Tea for the adults, hot chocolate for the boys. Overall it is a shame that the excellent quality of the food is matched by the ambience of the dining room. A few white tablecloths and napkins would go a long way.

We’ve lost count of the number of 3 nights stays we have made over the years…just back home yesterday. Sometimes we go twice a year! It is brilliant, in all respects, we love the time we spend there. Rooms are lovely, warm, quiet and comfy. Now to FOOD…lovely quality, beautifully presented - local ingredients. Superb Chefs. So relaxing to eat in their restaurant, no need to go out looking for meals, you won’t find anything to equal breakfasts or evening meals, at The Grange. I am extremely fussy with food too!! Husband and I go with 2 friends - we look forward to the lovely evening meal and ambience of the dining room, after busy days out. Now to STAFF….Teresa is Head of Reception/bookings - and many more aspects of the smooth day to day running. She is brilliant, a real asset to the owners, as is Rosie…always busy serving, helpful and smiling! Along with the rest of the staff. To conclude a family owned hotel - owners Jon and Jenny have worked so hard to achieve this standard and continue to do so. They always have time to chat and make you feel welcome, no matter how busy! Thank you all once again. Go on just book The Grange…you won ‘t find better.
