"Beautiful house with lots of charm and character, nicely renovated/maintained. The room we stayed in was quite spacious and came with a bathtub in the WC, which was welcome after a long drive. The only thing is, it’s an old house so noise will travel from room to room, or from the hallway. But, again, to be expected! The pool was great, too; the perfect size for some lazy laps to cool off in the summer heat. For breakfast, you’ll have to share the dining table with the other guests but I personally enjoyed the experience. The spread was pretty impressive and everything tasty. Coffee and orange juice were both excellent :) The lady who was helping in the kitchen and the breakfast service was such a kind soul. Overall, great value for cost. Hope to return one day."

"Great location overlooking the ocean, beach and golf course. Nice 3 BR 3BA simply furnished. Bathrooms nice although difficult to dry towels. Eg no desk/ chair or vanity / table of any kind in the large bedroom downstairs. Nice kitchen well equipped ( washer dryer for example). Lower BR smelled damp. Full buffet Breakfast provided in nearby restaurant. Good customer service."

"I’d played golf at Praia D’el Rey golf a number of times before but hadn’t stayed here before. As great as the golf courses are here I wouldn’t stay in the village again and was also very disappointed with the shuttle service provided by the resort! Villa: although a first sight it appeared clean it became apparent that the place was damp and had a stale musky smell throughout our stay despite opening windows etc to try a freshen up the place. Shuttle service: The resort appears to have a large number of vans and the service from the villa to the golf courses, reception and hotel was spot on the return journeys were beyond bad!! After our round at Royal Obidos I called the resort reception to ask for a shuttle bus back to our villa (a 10-15 trip) I was told the resort didn’t provide a return service and that the course would provide a shuttle! The course has one minibus which at the time was ferrying a group of 28 back to their villas so we had around a 1 1/2 hour wait to get back! Similar situation happened for the return from West Cliffs. The poor girl at the course reception was having to apologise to everyone because they only have 1 bus and despite trying to get support from the resort shuttle service they weren’t prepared to help! In summary I would strongly recommend playing the golf courses here but find yourself somewhere else to stay!"

"The hotel is just inside the walled city, which is easily reached through a small door opening on the wall. The room we were given was large, clean and had all the amenities you needed. The receptionist was also very friendly and informative, providing us with great dinner suggestions, which were really delicious. The only thing you have to lug your luggage from the outside wall to the hotel which we were warned about. And our room was just above the loudspeaker from the attached restaurant, which fortunately shuts at 10.30pm. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel."

"Lovely location. There are rooms in the castle, but if you want this, suggest you contact hotel to confirm as most rooms are in the annex attached to castle. You cant enter town walls - but park outside, call and give your location and hotel will send a van for you and your luggage. Food in hotel restaurant is excellent. Full access to the castel as a guest whether staying in castle itself or annex."

"The hotel is located next to the Castle of Obidos, just a few minutes' walk from the medieval castle and monastery. The hotel has free indoor parking. The overall hotel layout is full of medieval style, with a wood-burning fireplace, bows and shields hanging on the wall, swords and foreign rifles with bayonets placed on the ground. The room is clean and comfortable, the service staff is friendly and you will feel at home. The disadvantages are that the water pressure is too low, the faucets and water valves are very old, and it is not very comfortable to bathe."
