The Ark Lodge

Charming hotel, small and intimate. Lots of stairs to level A (top level) so if you are slower go for a room on level C. The viewing areas are great with huge windows to watch the animals. Lots of elephants, boars, Impalas and dickdicks. The hotel could use an update but charming enough that it’s not a big deal. I had a massage with Elizabeth and I can not recommend enough. She was amazing!

Even if you don't go on a game drive, you can observe wild animals from the terrace because the animals come here to get not only water but also minerals. It was a little cold at night, but the hotel staff provided us with a hot water bottle. The service of the staff during meals was also excellent. Both my daughter and I really liked the soup at this hotel.

Excellent wildlife viewing from terrace but hotel let down by the room. Small, no wardrobe, no shelf in bathroom, toiletries had to be put on the floor, bathroom basin loose. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is quite old and characterful but could benefit from refurbishment.

My husband and I spent the night here for a Valentines getaway. Very nice lodge in the heart of Abedares National Park. They offer 4 decks that over look a water hole where the animals come to drink. There is a nice bar to lounge at and a lqrge fire plqce to gather around. Abedares is one of the highest peaks so the tempatures are a bit cooler, so bring a jacket as the night time is cold. At night you have this very hot bottle in your bed and its the best little suprise to warm you up. The entrie staff was friendly and welcoming. There are no TV's in the rooms or WiFi, so come to getaway from the hustle and bussel of life and unplug and enjoy nature. I would recommend for a weekend getaway...

Really special place and overall experience. Can do better in calling out that the check in takes place in a different facility 20 minutes drive and that you need to add park fees to the total cost!
