Nosara Beach Hotel

Massively overpriced, belligerent staff, very basic breakfast (without choice), lifeless, phoney atmosphere. We stayed because it was late in the day and we were stranded as it’s a long way from a central hub. I would not recommend this even to very wealthy travellers ($300 per night - not justified).

We had an absolutely fantastic stay. The hotel is so unique and fun. The service is outstanding. The food is over-the-top delicious! The location is amazing! Location step to world famous beaches. Easy walk to town! Our room was super spacious and had the most incredible ocean view! We can’t wait to return!

What can I say, with the ever changing face of Guiones and Nosara… This hotel is what has kept me coming back. Wonderful staff ALWAYS, down to earth caring and the jewel of the area. Almost don’t want to let it out! Best beaches best views best people

Pros: location was pretty good, breakfast was good, pool is nice. Cons: run down, not well maintained. For the price, service was lacking. Biggest issues were the ants, lots of them in the unit, two giant grasshoppers the size of your hand on our bed. Sewer gas smell. The major issues occurred at night after the front desk closed at 9, so we waited until the morning at 8 to tell the hotel, they said that we should have told them right away. They offered to upgrade rooms, but there is no pest control, there are ants all over of the property including the restaurant. The doors and windows are not sealed anywhere, so no reason to think that another room would be better. We left a day early.

We stayed for 7 nights in April 2022, during one of the busiest times of the season. We had a wonderful stay and were even lucky enough to extend it longer because we loved it so much. What makes this place so magical? First, the location. As you can see from the photo, the hotel sits between two beautiful beaches, Playa Guinones and Playa Pelada. What you can't see is how it feels - tranquil, secluded, quiet, safe and away from the hustle of North Guiones which is just a 10 minute drive away. The pool was also a great option when we needed a break from the beach or wanted to swim after sunset (closes at 8pm). Second, the staff. Thank you to Esperanza, Daniel and Daniela for your dedication to making our trip so special. Even though we are seasoned travelers, we still had lots of questions and they were helpful with everything: transportation, tours, restaurants, culture and random questions. The staff are beautiful, smart and proactive people who go out of their way to help guests have a good experience (I am an executive recruiter professionally - I notice these things!!) Third, the restaurant onsite is a treasure. Breakfast is included every morning, and our waiter, Joham, was very attentive and made amazing fresh fruit juice every morning. We often came back for lunch because the food was great and the veranda offered a cool respite from the hot sun. Joham was especially patient with our two boys (12 and 9) and they slowly practiced their Spanish while ordering. TBC...

This hotel is so unique and beautiful. We pulled up to it after driving 1.5 hours on mostly dirt road and felt like we had reached a gem at the very end of the earth. There are only 21 or 22 rooms in the whole place but the restaurant, pool, and grounds are spacious. And all of it is right by the beach. Esperanza, the manager who also functions as an outstanding concierge, could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

This place is absolutely amazing. It's one of the only places to stay in Nosara that is right on the beach, and it's perfectly situated right between Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada! We rented surf boards for the week and would go to Guiones for the surf and Pelada for the walking and relaxing. We stayed in one of the rooms with its own pool and it was incredible, especially during Covid times, to have our own space. The patio was huge, room was clean and comfortable, and we felt really at home. Perhaps the best part of the whole place, though, was the restaurant. They were not open for dinner when we were there, but the lunch we had was one of the best in the whole area, and the daily breakfast took the cake for the best of our trip in CR. We loved the french toast kebabs the most, but everything we tried was delicious. They also left us a lovely surprise in the suite for our honeymoon. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

We traveled to Nosara for our honeymoon and stayed at the Nosara Beach Hotel. We rented a car and drove from Liberia airport - I highly recommend renting an SUV as many of the the dirt roads to get there are bumpy. Daniel was super accommodating and helped us with directions before arriving, and made sure we were well taken care of the rest of the trip. The bar and restaurant staff were excellent as well and went out of their way to get us anything we needed. The breakfasts were consistently delicious and we loved the variety of fresh juices each morning. Nosara Beach Hotel is steps away from the beach and has beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets. We walked down to La Luna for dinner multiple nights, which is just a short walk down the road. There’s a walking path that will take you to Playa Guiones where there are more bars, restaurants and shops, though it’s a very dark walk at night and I would recommend using only during the day. We loved how laid back Nosara was and how peaceful and relaxing our stay was at Nosara Beach Hotel. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic vacation spot.

We booked several spacious suites for my daughter's wedding week. While the facade could use a little tlc, we were blown away with the excellent food in the open air restaurant overlooking the ocean, the magnificent ocean views, the charming grecian influenced design, and the friendly, accommodating hotel staff, from the front desk manager to the landscapers, housekeeping staff, and handymen. A very relaxed atmosphere, a 10 minute walk to the best surfing beach in Nosara. We are excited to return next year!
