Stayed at the absolutely stunning Norwood bungalow. This was pure luxury. The perfect way to relax. The place is nestled up in the hills rocked in the middle of tea plantations. So serene and beautiful. Every morning the chef would have a small chat and see what you would like to eat and prepare lunch and dinner accordingly. Each dish was out of this world. The high tea is a winner!Thank you chef Rangana and team. You can also visit the other bungalows around the reservoir for a meal. They organized an informative visit to the Dunkeld Tea factory and the guide, Bernard, was like a walking Tea Encyclopedia. At the bungalow they have a lovely swimming pool and this stunning jacuzzi tucked away in the corner to give you added privacy. The rooms are classy, well appointed and spotless and maintain the true heritage of the place. The staff are so attentive and ensure to cater to your every need whilst ensuring your privacy is not compromised at any time. Have to mention Dasun and his super team of Janaka, Wahed and Priya. Just left no stone unturned turned in ensuring my every need was met and the stay was memorable. Truly relaxing and allowed me to totally switch off and reset. Highly recommended. We had an absolutely amazing stay at Summerville Bungalow. From the moment we arrived, Sanjaya and his team went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. They really took care of us and made us feel so welcome. I have a severe nut and sesame allergy, and I can’t say enough about how well the kitchen team handled it. Every meal was carefully planned, and they always came up with something exciting for lunch and dinner. I even got to pick the entire menu twice, which was such a treat! The chef and his team truly deserve a lot of credit for their attention to detail. A special shoutout to Kumara, who looked after us every evening at dinner. His service was next level, and his cocktails wonderful. His friendly and attentive nature really made a difference to our overall experience. The bungalow itself is well-kept with a simple yet elegant design. The views of the reservoir are stunning, and the pool is a lovely place to unwind—though the water was a bit on the cooler side! One small thing to mention is that, like at other Resplendent properties we’ve stayed at, the beds are quite firm. Ours seemed to be two mattresses pushed together, so there was a small gap in the middle—not a huge deal, but something to note for those who prefer a softer bed. The activities on offer were enjoyable, but we were a bit surprised to see a $30 charge for kayaking around the reservoir on your own, especially given that this was an all-inclusive stay. In most other hotels and resorts we’ve been, kayaking is nearly always included. All in all, we had an unforgettable time and truly appreciated the warmth and hospitality of the entire team.

Definitely our favorite stop in Sri Lanka! Our experience at the Summerville bungalow was nothing short of spectacular. Not only are the accommodations and grounds superb but also the staff is fantastic. Sanjaya was the absolute best and reason enough for us to want to return. He took such good care of us along with the rest of the team including Kasun, Dhanushka, and Ishan. Last but definitely not least, chefs Kumara and Gayan kept us so well fed the entire time. We are grateful for the wonderful experience we had at the Tea Trails with the amazing team listed above, and we are already planning our return back to Summerville!

Wow - obviously the rooms, amenities, views are amazing but for us the guys working there really made it. They were so friendly, attentive, light-hearted and just great. Priyantha gave us a warm welcome and was always on hand, Krishna kept us well fed and hydrated, and Nilantha even showed us the hoppers pan the chef used when we expressed an interest in how they were made! Speaking of, make sure to get the Sri Lankan breakfast here (egg hoppers with all the curries and sambols, and the Sri Lankan omelette). It was the best of our trip!
