The North Hero House Inn & Restaurant

Beautiful location on the water. Simple well kept rooms, with a view to die for, excellent food and service. The Pier makes for great fun. And a full restaurant besides. The staff works very hard to give everyone a wonderful experience. Location close to all of the islands and Burlington.

The lakeside suite we booked is not the one we stayed in. The message we sent you about this went unanswered. When we arrived there were only sheets and linens for 2 people even though we had paid for 3. After a day on the road we had to make the sofa bed ourselves. The next day we made the remark to the reception who promised us a properly prepared bed for the 2nd night, but nothing but a sheet. We were cold, the room was dark and damp and had nothing to do with last year's suite for an even higher price. The reception did not take note of our remarks or make a commercial gesture. We have come from Switzerland several times over the past 24 years, this is a big disappointment.

Tip: make sure to follow up a few times to make sure the dates are correct. The overall experience was wonderful. I had the "Way" suite and it was big enough for a bridal party to enjoy hair and makeup. I sat in the screen in porch to watch the sunrise and set on the lake. The breakfast which was complementary was delish!! I am so inspired by the decor I am picking out the same paint for my home! Parking is first come, first serve but there is overflow parking just in case. I will be going back!

Everything was great, we had a fantastic one night stay for my wife's birthday. Dinner was great, as was the complimentary breakfast next day. The location, service, room all A+. We took advantage of paddle boards and corn hole game on pier and had a very quiet and relaxing day on the porch overlooking the lake. Very good value too, we will definitely be back. This is my wifes new favorite place.

Un voyage dans le temps! Mais avec tout le modernisme d'aujourd'hui. Les chambres étaient vraiment chaleureuse et bien rénovées au goût du jour. La nôtre était au 3e étage... attention à l'escalier .... la montée est abrupte un peu! Décoré avec goût, l'ambiance très relaxante caractérise ce beau petit hôtel de charme. Pour un séjour en couple, c'est merveilleux! La localisation, avec le lac est extraordinaire! Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Too bad the main road runs right through the property. The car traffic spoils the lake front experience. Otherwise the property is very quaint, charming and great decor. Very cozy. Breakfast was quite nice! Enjoyed the waterfront area and paddleboards. Nightly rate is rather high though.

The updated rooms are good. The screen porch needed repair and cleaning. The shower was great. Bed very comfortable Massage treatment was wonderful by Sam. The linens and pillows were very nice. There were no closets in our unit The refrigerator was new

We stayed in the Cove House for 4 nights. We loved the location, the view, and the Pier Bar. Breakfast was always delicious but did take over an hour one morning. Our room in the Cove House had a lot of flies which we figured was because it was right over the water & the weather had been very humid. I killed a few but one or two hung around for our entire stay and would wake us up in the morning by buzzing around our faces. While mostly clean when we arrived, there were a couple things missed. There was a full trash can on the balcony (possibly attracting the flies?) and the chalkboard had a welcome message with someone else's name. (We did request housekeeping the next morning and they emptied the trash can which we left out front.) The service at check-in, check-out, the Pier Bar, and breakfast were always very good & everyone was extremely friendly. There's lots of parking but you may not get a spot near your room until after dinner time & the bar clears out. Since our room faced the bar we would watch people leave and then go out and move our car closer to our room. The small beach & swimming area was really nice. We enjoyed spending some time in the water and lounging in the sun. We did have to ask where to get the towels, as it wasn't written on the paper they gave us. The firepits did not work & it was suggested that we try them the next night but it rained so we never got the chance. I would stay here again, but I would try a room in one of the other buildings due to the flies in our room at the Cove House.

I found the North Hero House by chance on a google search, and am so very glad I did. We spent 3 nights here and our room was nicely updated and comfortable and our view from our screened in porch (we were in the Homestead House) was so relaxing. Every staff member we encountered was nice as can be from front desk to housekeeping to breakfast staff. We especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every day - the choices were interesting and easily had something different every day of the 3 days we were there, and the young ladies working the breakfast shift were super friendly and helpful.
