Good hotel and no issues

Sometimes the slightest detail makes or breaks a stay. This happened 2 years ago when we needed to use the hotel freezer to store some food overnight. We remembered that so we stayed here again because we had the same issue, and the matter was immediately handled for us. The location works out for us. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The Concierge lounge had all we needed for breakfast.

Initially, we had no complaints about the hotel. The room service is quick, and the rooms are nice. However, we are here for a graduation and the room was paid for by the program we were graduating from. As a result, we wanted to make sure and pay for the room service separately. The card was supposed to be charged $91, but instead was charged $350. When we brought it to the first shift manager’s attention she said she would fix it, but left without doing so. We then had to contact the second shift manager, who informed us that from her records they had only charge $91 even though we told her the bank statement said otherwise. We then asked if she could just reverse that charge and we would recharge $91 on a credit card. She told us there was nothing else she could do. I’m not sure why the first manager left without resolving the issue or why the second manager seemed so lackadaisical about such a huge price discrepancy. Other than that we would have recommended!

Our daughter attends college here and we are Bonvoy members so stay here often. That is about to change. We have tolerated out of date rooms and even one tim adjoining rooms where the HVAC was malfunctioning and our rooms were 94 degrees by morning, but we keep coming back because of the convenient location across the street from our daughter's dorm. This past weekend was the worst stay to date. I can't believe they would put someone in room 403. One of the bed headboards is askew like it's falling off the wall, the light fixture between the 2 beds is completely broken and falling over, one bed was way lower than the other and had a thinner, hard mattress, the sheets were scratchy, and the chair had large black stains on it. I took pictures. We will not stay in this hotel again and will find someplace else to stay in the future as our daughter still has 2 more years of school left.

I will not be staying here in the future. During my stay there were several homeless people sleeping on the lobby couch and chair the mornings that I was present (March 10-14). Recognize that there is an increasing number of homeless in uptown normal, but does not align to expectations of a hotel.

The hotel is very dated and run down. The carpet is torn as you walk the halls, our room had tiles falling off the wall, rusted bathroom lights (one of which had no light bulb). Furthermore, the staff was uninterested in being helpful at check in. Made no attempt to recognize my husband's Marriott status, explain parking or provide information on the hotel.

This is a conference-style hotel with excellent facilities for a conference or a private stay in Normal. The location is ideal in almost every way: it's an easy shuttle drive from the airport, right in the middle of uptown Normal, and near restaurants, a pharmacy, coffee shops, and other facilities that make a visit pleasant. If you look closely, there are some things that need attention: some rust on a light fixture, a breakfast area perfect for casual visitors but really too small and understaffed for a flood of conventioneers trying to eat before the first panel, an undependable rotating door, that sort of thing, but the rooms are very nice, the exercise room is more than adequate, and the entry space is stylish and modern.

horrible internet they have not upgraded since 2019. They have explorer and Windows 7 . Internet help desk said property owner aware snd will not buy new computers. This is a business center hotel! ? Not up to Marriott standards at all . Not up to business standards

Fellow travelers beware! We just stayed at the Marriott Bloomington Normal Hotel. We were told the parking options were to self park in the parking garage attached to the hotel, or valet park. (which is also located In The attached garage .) We ended up parking on the 3rd floor of the garage, which connects directly to the hotel via a walkway. When departing this morning, and loading our vehicle, we realized our car had been vandalized. Before leaving the hotel, we went down to the front desk to see if there were any cameras located in the parking garage attached to the hotel. They referred us to a third party who apparently owns the garage, and they informed us there were no cameras and that we would have to contact the local police. We certainly understand that Marriott tries to write themselves out of responsibility to what happens in the garage, but we thought they would be more helpful to us. We would have thought Marriott would have done their due diligence to make sure there were cameras present in the garage in which they direct their guests to park.
