Glass Light Hotel & Gallery, Autograph Collection

We didn't stay at the hotel. We went in to view the glass art works in the lobby/gallery. The lobby/gallery is like a glass museum and is definitely worth the visit. The glass creations are beautiful and impressive and were created by some of the most prominent glass artists such as Dale Chihuly!! The two amazing giant bunny rabbits are in memory of "Bunny" which was the nickname the hotel owner's kids called their grandma. Definitely a big MUST when in Norfolk!!

Stayed here for business and was impressed with this hotel. The rooms were huge, beds were comfortable, the food in the restaurant was great. The drinks at the bar were reasonable priced, and the staff was great. Amanda, Liam, and Stephan were all great behind the bar. Location is great as there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

The hotel location is great, within walking distance of many restaurants. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I had an excellent, clean corner room with great light, a comfortable bed, a large TV where I could stream Netflix, etc., a mini-fridge and lovely decor. The shower was also very nice and more modern than I expected. The hairdryer did not work and housekeeping immediately replaced it with a new one, but then determined that the outlet near the sink was the issue (non-functional), so I used another one in the room. The sink drained very slowly, but was functional. There are no ice machines but you can request a bucket of ice anytime, and it is quickly delivered. Water was available on the floor, which was a nice perk. The glass art gallery attached and the glass throughout the hotel was an interesting and unique amenity. I appreciated the double blinds on the windows, allowing light screening or blackout for sleep. Good security locks on the door and felt very safe traveling alone. The bar area is super noisy but they allow you to take beverages to your room without issue. I would stay here again, despite the minor issues; overall a very comfortable and pleasant stay for a work trip,

Family pilgrimage to Norfolk to celebrate daughter’s White Coat Ceremony at EVMS Med School matriculation. So pleased we chose Glass Light. From the Front Desk experience (staffed by GM Sun AM to give staff a rest) to the well-appointed rooms with great harbor views (a WWII destroyer!!) and glass surprises (cut-glass double sinks) to the fun and professional bartenders, the Glass Light was a sparkling, clear delight. Clean, modern, professional, courteous, responsive. Adjoining Glass Museum provides great backdrop for family photos. We will be back!

My husband and I had a great stay. We were in a corner room that was spacious and so clean. Everyone we encountered on our five day stay was so kind and always had a smile. You get breakfast in the restaurant with a $15/person credit for platinum and above and everything on the menu was delicious. We had dinner there too and I highly recommend it! It’s within walking distance to everything so it’s easy to venture out for food and there’s a Starbucks pretty much next door if you don’t want the free coffee in the lobby. Parking at $19 a day was in a parking garage directly behind the hotel. We found it completely safe for our rental. We have family here and will be staying here for all our trips going forward.

Just returned from a one night stay while in town for work. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The room was very spacious and updated. Air conditioner worked well and shower had good water pressure. The room felt quiet except when the air kicked on and off- if sounded like someone opening the door. That led to a very restless night sleep and maybe the door seal needs be inspected. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

We were traveling quite a bit to Norfolk in 2023 and 2024 for some family matters. After trying a few different hotel, we ended up just going back to this hotel many times. Hotel staff is awesome and attentive. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Jamie at the front desk got us checked in a few times before but we were disappointed to find out that he no longer worked there when we were checking in. He was really nice in our previous visits and one of the many we remembered by names and we were looking forward to seeing him again. Curtis at the valet is always smiling and one of the hardest working people. He always put a smile on our faces when we saw him around. Amanda, Hunter, and Clay at the bar are the best bartenders we had ever met and they make awesome and unique drinks. If you have a favorite liquor and flavor, just ask them what you are looking for and they will make something really nice. Their restaurant also makes really really good food. Highly recommend eating there once at least. In the morning at the breakfast, Fred was making sure we were taking care of. On Friday and Saturday evening they poured bubblies at the lobby. Nice gesture from the hotel. Oh we can’t forget Daniel. He was always asking and making sure we are taking care of too. Seriously people working here are the best. We have been around many hotels around the world but this one is really special to us. We want to go back just to stay there again.

We had a pleasant one-night stay at the Glass Light Hotel. Our room was lovely, clean and nicely appointed with nice views of the city. We liked the little touches that you'd expect in this type of hotel. like a coffee and espresso machine and bottled water in the room and an offer of champagne when we checked in. Hotel service was top-notch. The hotel's restaurant is excellent (we ate dinner and breakfast there), but it's not very big so if it's a busy evening you might need to make reservations in advance for dinner. We also highly recommend checking out the glass museum in the hotel, we were impressed and amazed by some if the glass artwork on display (also check out the glass artwork on display in the restaurant). We'd definitely come back to this hotel. Tip: There's an area on each floor where you can pick up bottled water and fresh fruit. Each floor also has some interesting artwork. A note on parking: There's a parking lot next to the hotel where you can self-park for $13 for a 24-hour period. When we checked in, the hotel staff explained that if you aren't planning to go in and out of the parking garage except when you check in and check out, then it makes sense to pay the $13 at the garage. But if you plan to go in and out of the parking garage several times in a day, it can be cheaper to pay the hotel's $19 self-parking fee than to pay at the garage because you'll get charged every time you leave the garage and it will likely add up to more than $19. They also offer valet parking. Tip: there's a back entrance to the hotel off the alley between the hotel and the parking garage that can save you from having to haul your luggage around to the other side of the block (but it's not a long walk so not really a big deal either way).

I stayed earlier this week for 1 night in room 1101 and it was the worst nights sleep after decades of staying at Marriott properties. For long periods of time at 8 PM, 12:30 AM and again at 5 AM there were continuing loud noises in the ceiling that sounded like heavy items were being dropped from above. Staff informed me the hotel gym was above this room. Management should resolve this noise issue. At this price point, assigning such a room to customers is poor management. If you are assigned this room, request a change.
