The Property & Location The location is simply breathtaking—a huge area surrounded by nature, making it the ideal getaway for those looking to unwind and immerse themselves in tranquility. Despite its peaceful seclusion, it’s just a stone’s throw away from the famous Polonnaruwa ruins, allowing us to explore the rich history of the area and return to a relaxing oasis. The swimming pool was another highlight—crystal-clear, well-maintained, and not too deep, making it perfect for both beginners and those just looking to relax. We spent hours simply floating, soaking in the serene atmosphere, and enjoying the natural beauty surrounding us. Accommodation & Comfort Our room was spotless, with a perfectly functioning air conditioner that kept us cool in the tropical heat. The bathroom was pristine, with clean, well-maintained toilets and showers—a true testament to the attention to detail and high standards maintained by the team. It’s clear that the staff here take great pride in ensuring every corner of the property remains immaculate. An Unforgettable Breakfast Experience One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast included in our booking. Guests have the choice of a European or Sri Lankan breakfast, and as a German-Sri Lankan couple, we opted for the authentic Sri Lankan spread—a decision we’ll never regret! We were served a flavorful selection of: • Coconut sambol, dhal, onion sambol, and curry options (chicken or fish) • Traditional dishes like string hoppers, pol roti, and milk rice Everything was freshly prepared, rich in flavor, and an absolute feast for the senses. We genuinely looked forward to breakfast every morning, and it was one of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Excursions & Wildlife Wisecapes is not just about relaxation; it also offers excursions to nearby wildlife parks, allowing guests to experience the incredible biodiversity of the region. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and can guide you toward the best experiences tailored to your interests. A truly heartwarming moment during our stay was when we rescued a puppy from the road, and Kumara and his team went above and beyond to care for it. They helped feed the puppy, provide shelter, and even found a loving family for it—a true testament to their kindness and compassion for animals. This was a nice place to escape from busy life and enjoy the dry zone natural beauty in Sri Lanka. The rooms are spacious. The food was Sri Lankan and delicious. But there was only a limited selection. Meals were overpriced. The hotel has lost its value due to the lack of maintenance. Management should try to maintain the standards better.
