The first day I was put in a room overlooking the street. First impressions seem fine, but nightmares actually happen at night. The old air conditioner, probably manufactured 20 years ago, makes such a loud noise that turns the quiet night into walking on the streets of Hanoi blaring car horns. Next is the bathroom with a teeny tiny toilet as if for a baby that makes me squat when using it for fear of it breaking. Then, the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan, making the air in it stuffy with a faint smell in the air. Even drinking water sometimes, I have to complain to the front desk for them to be provided. On the second day after complaining about the noise, I was moved to the back room. but the air conditioner in this room is even worse. I even had to turn it off, bear the heat, and go to sleep. The staff may not even be aware of the status quo of the rooms themselves. they move guests from bad room to worse room. but the worst thing here is how they charge you. Drinks you will have to pay for without any information from the hotel staff (usually bottled water will be covered in the original room rate - for hotels that I have stayed; even with 1 star hotel). 2 bottles of drinking water will be renewed every day. I stayed here until the 3rd day, then checked out because I didn't want another noisy night. the surprise was in the bill they included 11 bottles of water for 3 days stay. while every day only gives you 2 bottles??? they insisted on adding the bottles I brought from outside when I got home from work. when you complain to the hotel owner they just blame everything on the staffs. in the end I still have to pay full price for the bottles of water they don't provide. another thing is that they put on the bill another beer which is more premium than the one they provide in the room.
