The Old Bank House

I have stayed at the Old Bank House several times and this stay was particularly pleasant. The service was excellent: Emily, the manager, was thoughtful, friendly, smiling. The location as always fantastic. Lovely porches, varied breakfasts, very quiet, beautiful common rooms. We'll be back.

What a lovely B&B. Breakfast was delicious. Choose the evening before from a listing of about 6 options. Served 8:00-9:00. Room was very nice with beautiful view of the Niagara River. Staff was very pleasant. Great location within walking distance to downtown area. Lovely town.

We had a lovely 2 night stay last week. The location is spot on, right opposite the lake and very close (3/4 min walk) to the busy touristy part of the town, which is very picturesque. Our room was large, comfortable and there was a drinks/ice station on the landing which was very well organised. We also had a (shared) balcony which was great. Breakfast was a little early tbh (8-9am) but there was a great choice of options and we left our preferences on a sheet the night before. The house is jam packed is interesting decor and photography and has a very cosy feel to it. I would recommend my friends and family to stay here anytime!

No housekeeping in my and other guests' $350 bedrooms. We returned to unmade beds and garbage. The manager said cleaning staff had "missed multi-day guests" and offered $10 in compensation. What a great way to destroy a vacation. It was both shocking and stressful to be in conflict with staff.

What sold Old Bank to us was the front porch views which were a touch misleading as there is a road in between the House and the Lake ..It mattered not. It's beautifully decorated with old photos from the owner we were told is a keen photographer and took himself. Rooms were fine..no more .. sleep quality not the best I've had on this trip .. Honeymooners book elsewhere ! You will keep the whole house up ! 🙂Breakfast needs booking the night before and you have only a one hour slot.. between 8 and 9 am. It's not ideal but house rules. All in all great stay . Very enjoyable.

We only had a quick over night but enjoyed our time. We stayed in the Rose room. Very cute room, enjoyed breakfast, great location. Nice view of the lake and short walk into town. No individual AC in the rooms so we did open our windows at night but that worked perfectly.

Amazing small hotel, we visited in March which is low season. It’s a lovely area, quiet with a few shops. The hotel is very quaint and quirky, excellent welcome from Jess our host who made us very welcome. Excellent breakfast included. Would highly recommend staying here, right on Lake Ontario. Very comfortable room, warm and cosy.

This is a beautiful, cosy B&b that I would definitely recommend. The room was immaculate and clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent! The staff were friendly and welcoming at all times and offered suggestions for things to do in the town. I would absolutely return and really hope to do so!

Positive: Great location, you can see lake Ontario from the front porch – it’s maybe a 2min walk to the water, and that’s if you’re dragging your feet!! Location is super close to QUEEN Street – where all of the shops and eateries are. Very close and very walkable. Beautiful park is also across the street for great photos. Residence: it’s old, quaint, but very inviting. A lot of historical perspective inside the house. Room was well-appointed with ensuite bathroom/shower/tub. Had a walkout to balcony shared with 2 other rooms. Breakfast was decent, freshly made – you order the night before. There’s always coffee/tea/water available. There are 4 options to choose from for breakfast, and they put out breads for toasting, and put out homemade muffins which were super yum. Our host, LACE, would be the reason we remember this trip. She was outstanding!! Super helpful and just super friendly. Anything we needed; she was right there. Gave options, suggestions on things to do, places to see, eat, etc. Such a great personality. Any drawbacks: would be the tight parking in the back of the house. You can opt to park on the street or parking lot across the street, and you’ll get reimbursed by the property. Remember this is a house, so you’ll hear feet on the wooden floors, staircase, etc. All wooden floors throughout. Some of these floors are slightly slanted – so watch for those. Also, there’s no individual climate control in room. You’re kinda stuck with what the general house temp is. Power outlets are not available right next to bed on both sides – just on one side.
