Barrowfield Hotel

Travelled by Daish coach, which arrived on time and was clean comfortable and driven by a helpful and friendly driver who made several comfort breaks at service stations. Our luggage was removed from the coach at the hotel by the driver and porters and placed outside our rooms which was a massive help. Our rooms were immaculately clean and warm, beds were comfortable , and en suite facilities excellent. Breakfast was at 8.30 am with unlimited choices and dinner was at 6.30 pm again with plenty of choice. The waitresses were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The dining room was really clean and food was attractively presented. There was plenty of really comfortable seating in the bar area and drinks were reasonably priced. Evening entertainment was good on all nights with Bingo, quiz, music and dancing. The swimming pool was small but again immaculately clean and warm open from 7 am. We took public buses from outside the hotel to Truro and Newquay town centre, and from a nearby hotel to Padstow. Fares were £3 each way unless you had free seniors passes. There was a Tesco express 5 minutes away for munchies etc . Each room had a modern tv and tea and coffee facilities. Only issue was there was only one lift which held 2 people, but even so we never had to wait longer than 10 minutes and the stairs were convenient for people without disabilities. Clean room. Decent food and plenty of it. All staff from reception to bar restaurant and cleaners very friendly and helpful. Bus stops right outside hotel although we came by car. Lots of interesting places to visit. This is our third stay at this hotel and would recommend.

The hotel was really nice.my room was just right for me.bed comfortable. Nice and warm.cosy hotel it was.the staff was all amazing. Always around if you ever needed help.swiming pool.was cool.but once you move around your fine. The food in restaurant was top class.with just the right amount to fill you up.this hotel is just amazing.

Had a nice time staff were brilliant food was plentiful and hot.slow at times but not that you'd complain. Entertainment could be better,only one good night with Gary on Saturday night. Mel is a very nice manager,nothing to much trouble. Be back soon.

I have been running this trip for 18 years , only just discovered daish , this was our 2nd year , absolutely lovely , very friendly staff , nothing to much trouble, food was ok some meals better than others, dining room staff were brilliant, all my lot want is a clean bed , ok food , good entertainment, we had this in abundance, just booked daish Eastbourne for next year

Just arrived home from a 5 day coach trip with Daish . Everything was lush , except the food , !! most of our group were very very disappointed with the meals , tasteless soup , frozen mixed vegetables, tiny child size portions !! We were very suprised as reading all the reviews that everyone praised the standard n size of the meals?? We then found out that it was a different chef to the normal one, !! Breakfast was ok ,very small portions again n only half piece of toast , I asked if I could have another bread roll with my soup , was told no sorry only 1 per bowl of soup !! It felt like I was in Oliver !! Apart from the food the hotel was amazing !! The staff are the nicest friendliest people I’ve ever met in any hotel in the uk n abroad !! The entertainment was also excellent! Along with the bar staff , nothing was too much trouble for any of them . Beware that it’s only 2 people at any time in the lift , so if your on the top floor ,n like me have mobility problems it can cause a slight problem, but to be honest I didn’t have to wait long for it , only major problem on checkout day the lift broke down , so a lot of us panicked as we needed to get down stairs with our luggage ,although our cases were already in the reception at 7am , but again the staff were calm and just carried on helping as many of us that needed it . So thank you !! We all had a wonderful stay . Just the food let it down , also very poor quality of food .
