We travelled down to Newbury to attend a wedding nearby at Post Barn. This accommodation was perfectly located for our stay - it was less than a 10 minute taxi ride away from the wedding venue. We arrived late in the evening and was greeted in reception and promptly checked in and told where our room was and how to get there which was simple enough. There was 2 lifts in there - both working fine and quick. The room itself was quite modern as you'd expect from a fairly new build with plenty of lighting options - entrance / main area / bedside lights / ambient headboard mood light. The room had hangers on the walls for coats etc. and also a small open wardrobe with coat hangers / a single draw which was fronted by a large full length mirror. The main bedroom area had a large desktop with a chair and stool and had a small flat screen television (around 32") with all the usual uk freeview channels available - there was also hdmi connectivity available to the tv to connect a laptop up to and I think there was a usb port on the tv too (most modern tv's have these). There was tea / coffee making facilities and supplies in the room. There was no fridge in the room. There is a hairdryer in the room although not that great There is ironing facilities available on request - all you have to do is ask at reception and they will give you a small ironing board and a basic iron for you to use. There is ducted heating controls for the room (lowest is 19 degrees) There is a window in the room with curtains that block out the sun - note the windows are not able to be opened at all. In the bathroom, there is a bath with overhead shower, a modern toilet pan with concealed cistern by a vanity unit which also houses a sink and has space for all your toiletries and over it is a large mirror. Hand soap was provided as was a shower gel / shampoo combo. Towels were also provided. The bed was pretty comfortable and there was extra pillows in the wardrobe at the top which we made use of. We paid for the breakfast and there was a full 'English' buffet which consisted of sausages, bacon, black pudding, hash browns, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, fresh grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. I had this on two occasions and it was very nice and plentiful. There was also other options like cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pancakes, crumpets, pastries - croissants, blueberry muffins etc. then there was tea / coffee and soft drinks too like pineapple juice / apple juice etc. The reasons for not awarding more stars are the following; 1. No parking specific for the accommodation (charged parking available 5 minutes walk away) 2. Shower is fixed overhead with no handheld hose (shower was a little faulty too) 3. Toilet paper - it was very thin and small individual pieces of paper, not on a roll 3. Power outlets lacking USB ports which surprised me as it's a fairly new Premier Inn 4. WiFi was poor - even in reception To summarize, it's reasonably priced accommodation and I w
