The Surrey A Corinthia Hotel

The hotel was fabulous. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The rooms and common area are beautifully designed. We unfortunately we could not use the lounge since it was reserved for a private event. The rooms have all the amenities you could want. The only drawback in the deluxe room is that the Bathroom is a single sink with a very small counter. Next time, I would upgrade for the small difference in rate. We look forward to returning in the very near future.

This newly renovated hotel is a perfect combination of sophistication and warmth. We were greeted with sincere hospitality from the doormen. All of whom were gracious and charming. Julio ( he said most people call him Julio Iglesias ) and Will ( needs to be an actor!) greeted us at the door as well as the front desk associates (Anthony, Margaret, Jonathan and many more!) who were over the top warm and welcoming. Our suite was beautiful. We overlooked Madison Avenue. It was lovely. The decor is well lit and things operate beautifully. The closet is a walk in closet and the 1/2 bath is a nice touch. I was greeted with a “ happy birthday “ cake and champagne. Every single employee we encountered, from the doormen (wish I knew all names!) to our fabulous concierges ( Carlos Johannes Daniel and Harald) made wonderful restaurant and jazz recommendations and front desk associates, to the housekeepers and anyone we can across within the hotel, had a smile and a greeting for us. The restaurant and bar Casa Tua, was fabulous. The decor makes you feel like you are in someone’s beautiful home. Gorgeous artwork and books and sculpture. Try the bananas foster brioche French toast. Go shopping with the help of the 24 hour complimentary car available to its guests. And what a difference. We’ve stayed elsewhere where the car is available only beginning at 11 am and was rarely available anyway. After a day of shopping, stop by the gorgeous bar and be greeted by the most elegant host. I detected beautiful Italian accents within Casa Tua which added to the ambiance. Between the hospitality and the ambiance of this newly and elegantly renovated hotel, The Surrey is more than we could have ever hoped for. Thank you too, to Renee, in customer service, who checked on us via a phone call to make sure our stay was to our liking. Poor Renee, I went on and on about how fabulous the hotel is and its team of outstanding and gracious professionals! We look forward to returning! Thank you to all at The Surrey for making my birthday one I’ll treasure forever.

We visited the Surrey-Corinthia several weeks ago, and we must say that it is every bit of a 5 star Hotel. The staff there is amazing, the rooms are beautiful, and the hotel is pristine. Their security team is excellent as there was always a security officer present. We especially felt safe when the security officer named Howard was on patrol. He was very nice, helpful and possessed a lot of knowledge about NYC and quick driving routes. We will definitely revisit the Surrey again in the near future. ( Waaay better than the Aman)
