Comfortable Rooms Near All Nola Hot Spots

I paid nearly $800 (including taxes and fees) for a three-night stay in this old house that's been converted to what is effectively a hostel. Each room has a king bed and a bathroom but that's about the only hotel features it has. I didn't even have soap in my room and the bathroom doorknob was falling apart to the point where I had to remove it entirely or risk getting stuck. The building is entirely unattended (no employees at all -- you get in and out with codes). That in itself is creepy because it's not an air bnb -- it's a hotel, with many guests, some of whom are gonna be drunk and disorderly because it's New Orleans. I got a dark basement room even though the rooms advertised -- and what I thought I was paying for -- were all nice-looking spaces on higher floors. All of this would be more than forgivable if the price weren't -- at least in my case - $250 a night. That price is sort of hidden -- rooms are officially advertised for as low as $80 a night but you'll see once they add taxes and fees that it quickly jumps to over $200, and in my case more. But if you look at hotels in New Orleans advertised at like $150 a night, taxes and fees bring them up to less than that. So it's a type of bait and switch. There are a number of basic but normal hotels in New Orleans I could have stayed at for $250 a night. So I was dumb and fell for this bait and switch thinking I was getting the cheapest thing I could. The owner company, Hosteeva, it's the kind of operation that, if you read the reviews of their air bnb's, seems to exist to squeeze as much money out of you as possible while giving you as little as possible. So unless you can somehow get these rooms for much less than I did, I'd steer clear.

The place is not what we expexted. I would wouldnt stay there as a solo woman. It didn't feel terribly secure. There is no staff there and we had issues getting into our room. One step up from a hostel. Nice neighbourhood, on the tram line was convenient. We had to book short botice as our other place cancelled with no notice, so it was ok.

NOLA stay The stay was good except for the fact that they left me with dirty and stained bedsheets. So unclean I had to run to Walmart and buy my own sheets on the first day so I could sleep comfortably. Besides that, it was good. Perfect location, close to all the main attractions in New Orleans.

It was just a room nothing special. It's in an older house so the walls are thin you can here your neighbor's. We were there for the Bayou Classic so it was convenient and reasonably priced. Its close to the trolley which was nice getting to and from Canal street.

Mouse/Rat in my room 2 hours after arrival a mouse/rat jumped on my friend and started running around on the night stand by her bed. It ran around the room on the floor, on her purse, and phone that was on the night stand. I had to call twice before we were located to another room and told that someone would arrive first thing the next morning to retrieve the belongings left behind. Ultimately I asked another guest that I saw outside to retrieve our left behind belongings. I asked to be compensated for the first night only and I have yet to here from anyone. It has now been over a week and I've called several times. I was also asked to take pictures for evidence so I recorded a video. We were moved to another room on a different floor that wasn't as large or nice as the original room. The 2nd room also wasn't as clean as it should have been. The customer service reps that I spoke with were nice and sympathetic to the situation but beyond that they couldn't do anything other than say someone will contact me which never happened to this day.

Love the Porch LOVED the location and the front porch was perfect! As a single women I would probably not stay here alone again, as someone knocked on my door for an hr starting at 2:30AM However, I thought it was a lovely home and absolutely would recomend it to a couple on a budget that wants to be close to the Jazz Fest or any other New Orleans activities!
