Buyer beware: Have you ever heard of a B&B that only provides breakfast to some guests? I hadn't. It turns out that the only way someone knows that a particular room doesn't include breakfast, prior to paying, is to surmise the same from the fact that breakfast isn't included as an "amenity," or, after making a NON REFUNDABLE reservation, reading the fine print AFTER paying a non-refundable reservation. When I mentioned my surprise, the proprietor also noted that my reservation, about $300/night, wasn't at a high enough price point to cover the price of eggs. (Yes, he really said that.) I wasn't actually in the Inn, but some in a row of rooms about 5 feet from the road. Worst value in a B&non-B I've experienced, alas.

We’ve stayed at this The Homestead Inn every year for the past four years and it never disappoints. We’ve enjoyed rooms in both the Annex and the main building—always clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Check-in and checkout are a breeze, and the tea, coffee, and snack station is a lovely touch. The staff is outstanding, consistently attentive and detail-oriented, making each stay feel effortless and welcoming.

What a lovely little Inn. My daughter and I stayed in the Stars Hollow room as part of a Gilmore Girls themed getaway. My daughter was over the moon for the Gilmore Girls (signed) paraphernalia. Antonio was delightful to deal with through reservations (made MONTHS ahead) to breakfast to our departure. We loved our room. Everything about the Inn and our stay was top notch

My husband and I planned to stay at Homestead INN and enjoy this small New England town between Christmas and New Year's, but we were both ill and had to reschedule. The host offered us a credit and was friendly and helpful whenever we needed to communicate. We came up in April and stayed in one of the Annex rooms. It was simple but well-appointed. The shower was excellent, the bed and pillows super comfy. The air conditioning unit has a super bright light when on, so I shut it off during the night and that was fine during April. Noise from the cars whizzing by did not bother us, but is is present. The main building is open to those staying in the Annex for coffee, tea, snacks, and hanging out on the sofa; just not breakfast, which was fine with us as we wanted to explore the local eateries. The Inn is walking distance to everything. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

We stayed two nights at the Homestead Inn in the Treadwell annex #3 at the end of April, 2025. The room was VERY clean, king size bed was comfy with lots of pillows and a great blanket. The mini split delivered as much AC as we wanted, was easy to adjust the temperature to the coolness we wanted AND made no noise. In the winter it provides heat. There is also a heat lamp in the bathroom which was nice to have. A couple times we had the mini split cooling the bedroom and the heat lamp making the bathroom toasty. The room wasnt fancy but it made up for it by having an extra room with two single beds and a 2nd TV. There was also a large bathroom with plenty of hot water. AND ANTONIO. IMHO, among all the great things about the Homestead Inn, the VERY BEST was ANTONIO. He was amazing. Any little things we needed he was there in a flash. When we first arrived, I had to call him about something. He was at dinner with friends and seemed to arrive so quickly, I thought he must have taken a magic carpet. He took care of the issue in 2 minutes. The next day I needed some scotch tape to wrap a present and there he was giving me the tape to use. Altho we didnt stay in the main house, we were welcome to the coffee, tea and treats that were always in the Dining Room. One night when I was in the main house eating a cookie he and I started talking. It was a wonderful conversation. I feel like I got to know him a bit and so glad we were able to make a connection. He is a 100 STAR person. That night there were a huge number of beautiful tulips in buckets of cold water waiting to be arranged in vases. He suggested I should pick one and gave me a vase to take it back to my room. It was lovely. And there was NO outside noise from traffic or people talking or playing loud music. You can easily walk into downtown New Milford where there are restaurants and shops. When we return to New Milford, we will be sure to stay at the Homestead Inn.
