I should have noticed before I booked this B&B that there were no recent reviews. For some reason, there have been no reviews for over 6 months. I booked based on all of the good reviews that mentioned Brian and Mary as the innkeepers. Apparently, they are no longer there and quality has declined. My husband and I live nearby, but we booked a night at the Pepin Mansion as a birthday and anniversary celebration. Before we even arrived, I was a little concerned and disappointed. The website said that check in was from 3-9pm, but the innkeeper texted me the day we were to arrive and asked when we'd be arriving. When I said we'd be there by about 5:30, they responded that since we would be arriving "so late" they would just leave our key and instructions in an envelope. I later saw that the confirmation email we were sent had a different check in time from what is stated on the website it said between 3-6pm. We were able to find our key and we got into our room. The website and our confirmation email had promised afternoon refreshments but it didn't state what time and we didn't see any evidence of those. The Culbertson Suite was nice, but not what I'd call luxurious. The bed was comfortable. The in room snacks consisted of a candy dish with 5 Hershey miniatures in it and two small bottles of water. The bathroom was interesting. It had a claw foot tub surrounded by a shower curtain. The drain in the tub had to be lifted and held up for the tub to drain, however. There was a handheld sprayer, but no overhead shower. The sink drained very slowly so it filled with water wherever we washed our hands or brushed our teeth. I saw several cobwebs up high on the wall and, near the floor, there was a small spider web with spider in the bathroom. The room didn't feel filthy, but it didn't seem exactly clean. There were fingerprints on the makeup mirror in the bedroom. While the walls were thick, the room had a door to the adjoining room and we could hear our neighbors through that door. It didn't feel like we had much privacy. Breakfast was served promptly at 8:30. We were told that there was no option to eat at a different time and the only other option was a light breakfast to go. We got up early so that we didn't miss the breakfast (even though our main purpose for the night away was to get to sleep in). Breakfast was served in the dining room where we sat at the dining table with two other couples. We enjoyed talking to the other couples staying at the B&B, but others who are more introverted or who are not morning people might not enjoy this set up. I've stayed at other B&Bs where you sit at individual tables. Breakfast was okay but disappointing after reading all of the past reviews and after the website promised a "full and elegant breakfast." Breakfast consisted of a small slice of vegetable frittata, 2 slices of bacon, a few cinnamon apple slices, a bowl of fruit, Greek yogurt with granola and a slice of iced lemon cake. We had coffee, or
