If you are a local, whether Sri Lankan or from any South Asian country, I strongly advise you to avoid this hotel! Our experience was marred by an unfortunate practice of tagging locals with luminous wristbands, which felt dehumanizing and disrespectful. The situation escalated when my mother was approached without any prior consent, and a wristband was placed on her wrist. This action felt entitled and rude, especially when we learned that the hotel had concerns about locals from the beach wandering in. It was evident that only locals were being tagged, while tourists were treated differently, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere of inequality. Having traveled extensively in Europe, the Caribbean, and various five-star hotels, I have never encountered such discriminatory practices. I had a heated discussion with the manager, who failed to grasp the issue. Instead of addressing the root problem, which was to ensure all guests felt equally valued, they chose to single out locals. To make matters worse, we noticed staff members whispering and laughing at us, as if we were the joke. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of respect for local guests, and the overall customer service was extremely poor. In summary, I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for locals. Their approach is not only discriminatory but also showcases a significant gap in customer service. Avoid this place at all costs!
