Sandals Royal Bahamian

My husband and I recently vacationed with 7 other couples and we had a ball! The whole experience was amazing from pick up to drop off. Our room was clean and service was great. Every request was honored. We especially enjoyed our butler service. In particular, Jackie, Garth and Johnny- they are the absolute best. If you are planning a stay with butler service see if you can request their service. You will not be disappointed.

Our first room had an awful smell to it, that even the employee that brought us to our room could smell. They gave us another room but only for one night, which was good because you could not warm the room up. When we got to the room, the temperature in the room was 66°, so I turned it up to70°. We quickly settled in., then went to Gordon’s for Supper as it was almost 7 PM. When we returned, the room was now down to 59°. There was obviously something wrong with the control box. I shut it off, and had to leave our room door open to get heat in from the hall way. I called maintenance, and when they finally arrived, tried to fix it, and told us they had, but it still would not warm up. A “fantastic”way to spend your first night of your honeymoon with the door open to the hall, and cold temperatures in the room. When they got us our 3rd room the next day, it was good. We both found the food as so so. We went on their boat over to their island one day, for a couple hours. We were told not to bring their beach towels over, because they had them there. We went to their pool, and no beach towels were left. A few times I went to Cocunt grove or West pool area to participate in their daily scheduled activities, only to find them cancelled, or they were done at a different time. One day while playing Pickleball, we heard a very harsh argument between two of their gardening employees about how something was to be done, with much yelling, and swearing coming out of their mouths. The East pool was very cold, and was told their heaters were not working. West pool was nice but very rowdy crowd at that pool. They really could have made a better effort to remove the seed **** washed up on their beach. When it was time to depart, and load up onto the airport shuttle, our luggage was not there with the other Peoples luggage. It is nice they carry the luggage down for you, but ours was missed, and we had put it out in the hallway as per their instructions at 8:30 AM, even though we were not departing until 9:30. One hour, and they did not get down to the shuttle. On the good points all the staff were very friendly, except the two gardeners who were fighting. The evening entertainment was nice. First time ever at a Sandels, and probably my last.

Private photo session with Roro. She was fantastic. Very energetic and told us exactly how to pose. Made us feel like models and made whole thing so much fun. If you get photos taken definitely ask for her!! Session was supposed to be 15-20 minutes but she spent almost 45 with us at all different sites. She made it very enjoyable

We are sapphire + members at Sandals. Have been to multiple properties in Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Barbados. Went to the Bahamas for a new experience/adventure. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Ricardo in a Rolls-Royce, who escorted us to the resort. Amazing service, knowledge of the island, and friendliness. Highly recommend him as a driver. Upon arrival, we were greeted in similar fashion to any other sandals resort as the “welcome home” mantra. Always makes us feel valued. We frequent Sandals properties to accumulate points, status, and to redeem points for future stays. We usually pay for the butler level service, as we did this time. We were greeted by Johnny our first Butler and he was lovely and incredibly accommodating. Our second Butler, I cannot even remember his name, but it started with an A. Not impressive. Cold, unimpressive, unemotional, seemed put out just to be there on the rare occasion we saw him. I barely asked for any Butler services because he made me feel so awkward. Part of the perk for paying for Butler service is to have them make reservations for you for dinner. Upon our arrival, we were informed that the Butlers no longer do that at this property. I very much wanted to go to Butch’s steakhouse and to the private island but that never happened as butler “A” said it couldn’t happen. I also asked for chairs at the party pool one day at around 10 am and he told me no because it was so late. We walked ourselves to the pool and found more than enough chairs on our own that were poolside. Too bad a butler’s first reaction is NO instead of looking further before the No. this visit to sandals made me less impressed with butler service. And if I ever return to another property I likely won’t pay for butler level service just did not seem worth the value. I usually always rebook on property as well but did not this time because of the poor experience. Will return to the Caribbean but not sure it will be Sandals. Didn’t feel “welcomed home” at the end of the day.

Arrived at Sandals 2/25/25. Nice ride from the airport by Marcus. Great conversation about the island and Sandals. When we got to the hotel our butler met us there. Since we have been to this resort before we declined the tour and he took us directly to our room. We asked in advance for gin and tonic and lemon drop martinis in the room. He had all the ingredients there waiting for us. Dominique explained all the restaurants he had reserved for us for the week. We explained to Dominique that we would like to have a chair with an umbrella at the pool. He reserved a chair everyday for us. He also had a cooler at our chairs filled with water. You can request anything you want in the coolers. Dominique and Laise where both great butlers who could read their guests and give you all the space you needed. The grounds were beautiful, pool was great. The people at the water sports were very nice. I went kayaking daily where I spotted a turtle and stink ray. Took out the hobby cat (sale boat) once. Overall the people there were very informative and very friendly. The food at the italian place and Butches the steak place were the best restaurants. Also the buffet breakfast had a lot of food to choose from and thats where we ate everyday. We did not take advantage of the night time activities. We started our days early with walking and playing pickle ball. Overall the experience at Sandals Royal Bahamian was relaxing, great service, and beautiful. Marcus picked us up at the end of the vaca and took us back to the airport.....until next time.

This was the third time we went to this resort and probably will not go back. We only went this last time because we were scheduled for Exuma and Sandals cancelled on us. The resort is getting old but still OK, we had Butler service which was not worth it. Really the only think they did was setup beaches chairs in the morning and met us at dinner, just to say HI. The service overall was pretty good, and the food and drinks were also good. To me the best Restautant was the Italian, it was a buffet style, but you did order off a menu. The French was horrible, not a lot of options on it. Butches and Gordons were very nice. The beach area was small and a lot of seaweed. We went to the private island which is nice except there was not enough help for the bar service, waited almost 35 minutes to get drinks. This was our 6th Sandals resort to visit, and we did book one more for next year, I guess one more to see if we are staying at this brand.
