"When I entered the room, it smelled of stink bugs, and there were a ton of dead stink bugs between the window and the shoji screen. They calmly cleaned up the corpses, saying that it was a common occurrence, but I wondered if they hadn't cleaned the room beforehand. I wish they had apologized or told me about the stink bugs when I checked in. Other than that, everything was great, including the bath and food. The food had a wide variety of dishes, many of them local, and the service was friendly. Everything was delicious. The bath was the best I've ever had in my life. I didn't feel sticky after the bath, and it was so warm that I couldn't stop sweating when I went to bed. I recommend visiting during the season when there aren't many bugs."

"Hotelli sijaitsee noin 30 minuutin päässä Shirakawa, mukava paikka jäädä lämpimämmäksi kausiksi. Jaettu kylpyhuone sijaitsee GF lattialla ja on melko kylmä saada sinne 1F vieraiden huoneesta. Huone on lähellä pääkatua, se ei ehkä ole helppoa valoisa nukkumaan. Ei ole ravintoloita lähellä, sinun täytyy varata illallinen, jos et aje. Hosti on mukava ja tila on puhdas ja viihtyisä."

"Everything was perfect. The staff. The food. My favorite lunch of my whole trip so far The location. The room. Parking. The only surprise was to find out that it was shared toilets. That was not clear on the website. We had the triple room because I wanted the wooden bath which was wonderful. However with no toilet in the room we had to go go down the hallway. There were two toilets for 6 rooms. Luckily there were only two other guests in the hotel to share with."

"We booked two nights at this hotel because a shuttle bus was promised, given the remote location of the station. This shuttle turned out to be non-existent, whereupon we attempted to cancel our stay without penalty. This was refused, so we reached the hotel by taxi. When we arrived in the evening after a long journey, it turned out that even breakfast could not be provided. They had scrapped it themselves after our request for a free cancellation. After some insistence, the breakfast was eventually refunded. The restaurant, announced with much fanfare, turned out to be closed, and there were no restaurants to be found in the vicinity. Although the infrastructure is good, this hotel is located in a desolate area; it is situated at a major truck stop. Certainly not worth a detour if you know what Japan has to offer in that regard.
