I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and cannot recommend it.Even if it was a soft opening, the operation is terrible. First, I checked in and went to my room, but the light wouldn't turn on even after inserting the card key. The porter said he would exchange the card key and return immediately, but he didn't come even after waiting 30 minutes. I called the reception and they finally brought it.
I tried to take a bath at night, but there was no hot water. I called and waited, but there was no response. I had to go to the reception and say it again. Finally, a staff member came and said that someone had switched off the pump.
After the bath, I called to ask for extra water and ice, but they never brought it again. I called twice and they finally brought it. What's worse, they brought a slip saying that a bottled water cost 700 shillings. I've stayed in many luxury hotels, but this was the first time I was charged for extra water, so I was very surprised. During my two-week stay in Nairobi, I stayed in eight hotels, but none of the other hotels charged for water.
Security measures are also insufficient. They only check the visitors at the entrance, and anyone can come to the front of the room. In fact, persons in casual clothes who were clearly not a hotel employee knocked on the door twice. It was scary. In the other 7 hotels I stayed at this time, guests always needed a card key to get to the room. In addition, some hotels had security staff on each floor. This hotel should put more effort into security measures.
One good thing was the service of the staff at the breakfast restaurant.
I came to this hotel because I was attracted by the photos on the internet, but it was really the worst two days.
