Comfort Inn South Oceanfront

Good place centrally located in the outer banks. The breakfast is good. The hotel is a little old and run down, but then again, all of the hotels are a little old in Nags Head. Good for the price, though. I wish they had a light in the hallway outside of the bathroom near the big mirror. This way someone could be getting ready there, while someone could be getting ready in the bathroom. The air unit was nice. The staff was nice and good. 1-10 I give this hotel an 8.

If you don’t mind a hotel that’s rundown , this is your hotel! On the positive side, the ocean view room was spectacular even with the chipped paint and rust on rail and floor. Rooms NEED renovation especially the bathroom. Only 1 elevator worked and took forever to operate. Stairways paint and walls chipped and dirty. Only bc of view, I give it a 4. Otherwise, a 2. Not worth the $$$ per night. Shame on Comfort Suite! Similar experience in Denver. No more CS.

The hotel management upgraded us to ocean front views, which were spectacular. We happened to be there during a surfing competition, which added some excitement. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The hotel is right on the beach with terrific views of the Atlantic and Jennette's Pier. Our rooms were clean, no bugs. The location is great, the rooms are reasonably priced, however it is an older building and lacks any sound deadening material.

Not worth the money. The hotel was run down and we had roaches in the bathroom. The elevator button had black tape over the down button which made it fun trying to get off the upper floors. The rooms were ok but not that clean, staff was non existent. I would not stay here again.

We had a great trip! There was plenty of parking which made it easy with a full size pickup. The lobby was nice and clean and appears to be updated. Also, the pool and oceanfront deck were so nice to have. I also enjoyed the free breakfast. The only issue I had was the washing machine eating my quarters but the front desk helped me and I was able to do laundry.

We have stayed here 2 years in a row. Very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Manager even texted us twice during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. Excellent service! Ocean view is spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony daily. Facility is centrally located. Breakfast has a nice variety.

We were looking for accomodation anywhere along this street, as we made the huge mistake of not booking anything beforehand. No more impromptu trips in this area anymore! The desk staff were excellent, and very helpful, and yes, we managed to acquire a oceanfront room. The hotel is in need of updating so make sure you are aware of this. Bonus was the proximity to restaurants - which are plentiful.

We picked this hotel due to the great location on the ocean and it did not disappoint! The hotel looks like it was updated somewhat recently. We had a oceanfront room on the 6th floor with a great view. The breakfast was great including freshly made waffles. The pool, deck, and access to the beach is perfect! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Con: The blackout curtain could not keep out bright sun away in the morning! I found that tucking the curtain into the balcony door kept out some light but it still streamed in and woke me at sunrise. Bring a sleep mask if you want to sleep in. Con: The room door keys were very finicky. It would take several tries for them to work correctly.

Great service, very welcoming when I arrived, and very quick. Room was clean enough and had a great view of the ocean. Would definitely recommend to anyone headed to Nags Head. Rate was good too! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on the beach!!
