Residence Inn by Marriott Munich Central

Stayed here for 10 nights just before Oktoberfest. Overall, nice hotel. We stayed in a "guest room" so we didn't have the kitchenette typical of a US Residence Inn. The room was typical of European hotels in terms of size. Bathroom was nice. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was typical for European buffets. Laundry facilities were nice. Only complaint was the doors slamming throughout the day, especially the mornings. Thud, thud, thud was quite common-I would guess it's the design of the doors. Outside of that, we would consider this hotel again. Location is a short public transport ride to the Central city and close to several large beer halls and beer gardens. Also, there are several grocery stores within the mall that is a few steps away. Overall, solid stay.

I experienced some issues with communication between the concierge and reservations team — my room was cancelled twice without any notice. I had to call and rebook a third time while en route to the hotel after a long, tiring flight, which added unnecessary stress. Thankfully, the reception staff upon arrival were helpful and accommodating despite the earlier booking complications, which I appreciated. The hallways had a lingering smell of old, musty spices, which was a bit unpleasant. On the positive side, the rooms were spacious and well-equipped, especially the kitchen area, which had good utensils and made longer stays more comfortable. Breakfast was simple but decent, with a selection of cheeses, breads, and eggs. It does get quite busy, and tables fill up fast, so I recommend coming early. There’s only one elevator for the entire hotel, which means longer waiting times. Occasionally, it would skip floors even if you pressed the button. In one of the rooms, the electricity cut out a few times, and we had to go down to the concierge late at night to report it. Thankfully, the night staff were responsive and resolved the issue. Overall, despite a few hiccups, it turned out to be a good stay.

Bad service at front desk Front desk was busy socializing with friends outside, I had to ask another guest where the employee is. After going outside to ask for service it was given with attitude, apparently I should not have interrupted his socializing. Sigh.

I stay at Residence Inn properties. The bathroom had a broken toilet seat, body wash dispenser and towel rack. We did not feel safe in the neighborhood.

Best Hotel On Our Trip! This hotel was one of the best stays we had on our recent trip to Germany! The service was great and the staff was outstanding. The location was super, close to the train station and within walking distance of tour connections. We highly recommend this venue! We will go back next time we are in Germany.

Big rooms, We loved this hotel. The rooms were massive compared to other rooms we stayed in while in Europe. The area around the hotel is nice. We liked the pizza restaurant at the end of the block. The continental breakfast was good and had both American and German favorites available.
