We had a lovely time at this gorgeous hotel over the New Year! The staff were so friendly and kind and as I have mobility issues, they went out of their way to help. The hotel is not yet geared up for those with disabilities, particularly mobility issues and it was a mission to get to the lower ground floor where the main buffet restaurant and the main entertainment bar is located as their is no lift from the reception area or directly down and we had to go a long way around the outside and down a steep, unlit ramp to get there. We hired a wheelchair from an outside company as the hotel wheelchair was broken, as I cannot walk that far, even with my walker and I certainly could not get down the staircase, which was the only other way apart from the ramp outside. There were a few issues with access for those with disabilities such as a broken and unusable disabled toilet on the lower ground floor with the toilet facilities only accessible via a few steps but had no handrails, so this was a mission each time I needed the loo. All this being said I cannot fault the service we received, and I was told by the lovely Maya (hotel guest relations manager) that while the hotel is closed until the summer season, they will be putting in a lift and making the whole hotel more accessible , with a walk in entry to the swimming pool, upgrading the disabled toilets and more handrails where there are ramps and steps. TUI were excellent with the arrangements for the airports, the accessibility to the plane and transfers to and from the hotel. The hotel is gorgeous, really modern and nicely decorated. Our room (407) was immaculately clean, and we had a stunning view across the pool area, beautiful gardens with palm trees and towards the beach and sea. The bed was huge and very comfy and the shower was good with a dispenser for shower gel/shampoo. I took my shower stool with me anyway and there was plenty of room to move around. The room was accessed via a few steps up with handrails so it was not too much of an issue for me. It would be impossible for those with more severe mobility issues so probably best to get a room on a lower level. The food was a bit samey from one day to the next but I think that was because I am wheat intolerant so not much choice but it was delicious nevertheless. Staff were amazing and so kind and helpful. The entertainment was good in the evenings, it was quite low key but very enjoyable. New Year’s Eve celebrations were spectacular and the hotel certainly pushed the boat out with the food and the entertainment and there was a firework display at midnight. It really was the highlight of our holiday and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy it! Make sure you book for the Culinarium as this meal was fantastic with waiter service and posh wine! I think that once all the accessibility issues have been sorted at this hotel then it would be an absolutely perfect place to spend our holiday and would certainly go back to spend next New Year
