A Mixed Stay at Méditerranée Thalasso Golf My recent stay at the Méditerranée Thalasso Golf in Hammamet, Tunisia, offered a blend of highs and lows. The hotel's greatest asset is undoubtedly its wonderful beach. The sea is inviting, and the pools are well-suited to the property, providing ample space for guests. The poolside bar is conveniently located, a definite plus for those lounging by the water. However, a significant drawback was the lack of beach service for drinks; getting a refreshment from the bar required a five-minute walk from the sand, which became tedious. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the beach was inconsistent; for the first few days, it was quite dirty, only being cleaned later, with algae impacting the aesthetics and hygiene. The dining experience was somewhat underwhelming. As an all-inclusive guest, I found the breakfast to be average, and crucially, there were no plant-based milk options for lactose-intolerant coffee lovers like myself. While lunch and dinner had a couple of standout days where the chef excelled, the majority of meals were repetitive with limited options, especially for those with dietary restrictions. Outside the hotel, there isn't much to explore, but the presence of taxis readily available directly in front was a convenience. A major highlight was the on-site tour agency and the exceptional assistance from the reception manager. He went above and beyond to help us arrange a private driver for trips to Tunis, Sidi Bou Said, and Carthage, which was a fantastic experience and much preferred over large group tours. Finally, the hotel's animation team They where phenomenal. Their evening shows at the amphitheater were incredibly entertaining, and they consistently kept guests engaged with activities at the freshwater pool during the day. Overall, the staff were consistently polite and helpful, which significantly contributed to the positive aspects of our stay.
