"WithI can not recommend this guest house The main issue I had with this property was false advertising. I am a non-Chinese traveler and made a significant effort to be there, initially planning to stay only one night. The room was advertised as a “mountain view,” with photos showing trees from the window. I was there specifically to see the UNESCO-listed tea trees and mountains, which this room did not provide. The room did not match what was advertised, and this ruined my plans. If the owner had advertised the room accurately, it could have been acceptable (although still overpriced!) , but not as it was presented."

"Out of expectation!! Jingmai mountain is not yet well developed as a tourist destination (which makes it more original and peaceful too). So I didn’t expect anything like Xiangongjia - the hotel is well furnished and designed with professional hotel management. The local owner is very friendly too and organised the fire dance on our first night. The restaurant in the hotel is incredible too - tasty and clean - a level I had never expected just in my hotel and not even in this less developed tourist destination - so we spend 2 nights here - so continent when it is less dangerous drive during night time in mountain area. The manager also helped me to prepare a bday cake for my friend and made tea for us. And thanks for sharing your and this hotel’s story. If you have the budget, this is definitely your best choice."

"房間很大，靠外邊的景觀房窗外看出去景色非常不錯，天台還可以看雲海。老闆自己家主做茶葉生意的，很熱情，每天晚上回來都邀請我們一起喝茶聊天，還請我們喝自己釀的酒。 翁哇的交通略不便，勝在安靜遊客少，可以自己找師傅包車，也可以讓老闆開車送我們去翁基再坐寨子裏的公共交通去別的地方，老闆一家人都很不錯的！ 以後有機會還會再來！"

"這個其實是我在雲南旅遊期間住的最差的一次，性價比不符，可能是景邁山一下子火了，寨子的各項設施還沒完善，但收費是上去了，首先呢，酒店前面在造房子，很遲了還在幹活，挺吵的，而且陽台很灰，陽台上的椅子根本沒法坐，一抹一手的灰，衞生間是不隔斷的，通透的，對於套房衹有一個衞生間而言，實在不方便，水壓又不穩，花灑出水很小很小，又一會兒冷一會兒熱，洗手池也是不通暢，下水很慢很慢，多洗點東西水會溢出來，相對於普洱和昆明的酒店，嚴重性價比不足，所以希望民宿不是光價格上去，服務和設施也跟上"

"A great B&B with an amazing view from the lobby and from the room. The room was fully equipped and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful! In the lobby there is always good tea and you can also buy the tea. I spent a great time here so this is definitely a strong recommendation. Also the location in Wengji is a great starting point to explore Jingmaishan. I feel compared to the other villages Wengji provides the best feeling of authenticity while also having all the commercial amenities that you need during your stay. Furthermore, it is located quite central in Jingmaishan so that the different corners can be explored easily day by day."

"這裏非常安靜，房間樓上就有日落觀景台，旁邊也有路邊也有平台可以穿過樹枝看日落。, 院子是木屋，周圍裝飾得挺好看，後院有一大片李子和桑葚，老闆帶我摘了滿滿兩小盆，超級好吃怎麼都吃不膩。院子裏還有木瓜可以揪來吃。這裏的水果直接蘸辣椒，剛開始不習慣，習慣後沒辣椒吃不下。, 民宿沒有酒店的標準化清洗流程和器械，全靠老闆自己挨個收拾清洗，但是整體依然算得上乾淨整齊。如果按照連鎖酒店標準就有些勉強了。有一次性洗漱用品、一次性浴巾等物品，被子枕頭非常軟乎。, 翁窪本身不在整片古寨的主幹路上，所以交通沒有其他古寨方便，得先進入翁基再進來，從翁基商業區步行進來不到1km，但是有坡道，可能需20分鐘左右。也正因如此，這邊商業化發展比較慢，總共也沒幾套民宿，全是本地居民住宅，非常安靜舒服。, 自家的話民宿旁邊停車方便，也好出行, 最後，老闆老闆是個剛從城市回鄉的姑娘，非常雷厲風行，人很好，會和大家一起圍爐煮茶、喝自釀酒、採摘果子，有時間還會煮飯。入住當天沒吃上飯還説回去給我煮麪（雖然最後沒吃）"

Lancang Jingmai Airport is the closest option for those who prefer to fly, approximately 72km away. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Gulao Tea Mountain Villa, Jingmai Mountain Tea Forest Cultural Scenic Area and Wengji Bulang Old Village all nearby. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. According to our guests, the location of this hotel is one of the best around. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.
"All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby."

🌟滿分好評！來景邁山必住的寶藏民宿，閉眼沖不虧 這次景邁山古茶林之旅，最慶幸的就是選了老頑童民宿，完全超出預期，住得舒心又愜意，妥妥的景邁山住宿天花板！ 地理位置絕了，民宿坐落在景邁山核心村寨裏，鬧中取靜，出門就能感受原生態的古寨風情，步行沒多久就能抵達觀景台，清晨不用早起趕路，輕輕鬆鬆就能看到絕美的雲海日出，傍晚在民宿小院裏就能邂逅浪漫日落，視野超開闊，滿眼都是青山綠樹和古茶樹，氛圍感直接拉滿。 環境與衞生無可挑剔，民宿整體是融合了當地民族特色的裝修風格，木質結構温馨又有質感，保留了原生態村落的韻味，同時設施又很新很齊全。房間乾淨整潔，床品柔軟舒適，衞生間乾淨無異味，洗漱用品齊全，細節處都打理得特別到位，完全沒有山裡民宿潮濕、臟亂的問題，住起來格外安心。 老闆一家人超級熱情暖心，不愧是“老頑童”，性格爽朗又隨和，全程像家人一樣貼心照顧。剛到民宿就幫忙搬運行李，主動給我們講解景邁山的遊玩攻略，推薦地道的小眾景點和本地美食，避坑又省心；閑暇時還會邀請我們喝自家種的古樹茶，嘮嘮景邁山的風土人情，賓至如歸的感覺太戳人了，完全沒有陌生感。 周邊出行超便利，老闆還會貼心幫忙規劃遊玩路線，不管是自駕還是步行都很方便，徹底解決了山裡出行的煩惱。民宿的氛圍也特別鬆弛，沒有商業化的浮躁，待在小院裏喝茶吹風，感受山裡的慢生活，所有旅途疲憊都一掃而空。 整體體驗感滿分，性價比超高，不管是情侶出遊、家庭旅行還是獨自散心都超合適。下次來景邁山，還會認準老頑童民宿，強烈推薦給所有想來景邁山的朋友，這家真的不會讓你失望！ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐五星推薦，閉眼入住不踩雷！

The environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

Amazing stay! The house is located just outside the village on a quiet road. The rooms are super clean, well equipped, and have air conditioning, which is important in winter. But beyond the house itself, the real highlight is the owner. We shared several tea-drinking sessions where he explained the secrets of Pu’er tea and Bulang traditions and history. Despite the language barrier (we don’t speak Chinese and he doesn’t speak English), he made a huge effort using translator apps, and communication was easy and fun. He is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we highly recommend spending time drinking tea with him. He also created a WeChat mini-app with guides and information about the area, which we used a lot and found very helpful. Our stay was unforgettable: the Jingmai mountains were the highlight of our trip to China, and we went home with some amazing Pu’er tea and great memories. Looking forward to coming back!

Exceeded all my expectations of a boutique homestay with only six rooms . Ultra luxury linens and beddings , ,Panasonic view of sea clouds at the confer of your bath tub , tasteful contemporary chinese interiors , and to top it all , run by a simple humble couple who goes to ends to make your stay a comfortable one . When you stay for 3 nights or more , they cook up a storm of local delicacies for your dinner , on top of daily breakfast! Do be prepared breakfasts are local style . Bit there’s a great cafe nearby service Arabica yunna beans and it’s become one of my fave ! Def great value for money !

Review: Eterna Venue Hotel (Liu Shi) - A Tea Mountain Retreat As a self-proclaimed “well-travelled” individual, I never expected Jingmai Mountain to take my breath away again—but it truly did. The journey here is a testament to Yunnan’s untouched beauty, with rolling emerald tea fields, ancient forests, and villages where ethnic tribes have lived for generations. We decided to stay at Eterna Venue Hotel (Liu Shi) instead of the many BnBs on the mountain, having often found those overpriced and lacking in cleanliness. What a pleasant surprise this hotel turned out to be! From the moment we arrived, the warmth of the staff made it feel like home. Many of the team members come from nearby tea-farming communities, and their passion for the land was palpable. They didn’t just serve tea—they shared stories of the heritage behind it, offering insights into the different tea varieties and local traditions. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with high-quality linens. I loved waking up to the sound of roosters and the first rays of sunshine streaming through the window. If you’re like me and prefer to leave the window open at night, the fresh mountain air is the perfect way to start your day. For breakfast, don’t miss the fresh rice noodles and seafood congee—so flavorful! The fruit selection was also fresh and changed daily. A pleasant surprise was finding Cha Ling (a premium LVMH brand) as the hotel’s amenity. Made with tea extract, it added a luxurious touch to my stay. One of my favorite experiences was the traditional tea baking session, Wei Lu Kao Cha. We gathered around a carbon stove, sipped Pu’er tea, ate locally harvested fruit and nuts, and learned to bake our own tea leaves under the guidance of tea masters. The staff’s pride in their cultural heritage shone through in every interaction, making what could have been a simple stay feel like an immersive cultural journey. For anyone looking to experience the authentic soul of Yunnan’s tea mountains, Eterna Venue Hotel offers more than just a place to stay—it provides a meaningful connection to this beautiful region.

We had an amazing stay at the Guest House. It's situated a bit down from Wengji village centre : amazing view of the mountains and nights are very calm ! We really appreciated staying in Jingmai mountain region, a more preserved and authentic area, especially after having visited Northern Yunnan where we were sometimes disappointed.... We rented an e-scooter at Mangjing which was very convenient to visit villages and tea forests around. The family is very nice and helpful, we really appreciated discovering all these different teas : green, black, white, etc. And so happy to have bought some home ! Wishing you the best ! It's good that the homestay is right in the village. In the morning, all the roosters crow at sunrise. It's more pleasant than the noises made by cars driving past the road right under the window. The male receptionist doesn't have many words. The female receptionist made tea and chatted with us. The room was not cleaned and the necessities were not stocked daily. The window is tinted with green and made the view out of the window appears nicer in one section.

The village is only 1 km away from the busstation and we were picked up from there and brought back there when we travelled to Banna with the bus at 8.30h. The lady helped us with the tickets and also with organising a driver to two sights. However it took a lot of tlme because we don’t speak chinese. We bought some tea from their own tea. The guesthouse is quite basic but has a terrasse and is near the panoramic platform with a great sunset view. What really disturbed me was a bad smell in the room. No idea from where it comes from. (Not from the toilet). The village itself is really beautiful and very worth to visit.

Reasons to stay here: Great location with walking distance to Manjing and Wenji (there's a great coffee place here btw) Owners are super friendly and helpful. The views. Delicious tea. Hot and strong shower Big beds with puffy pillows.

We (2 German travellers) have been in the area of Jingmaishan and wanted to stay a night somewhere. The hotel is about 2 km away from Wengji Ancient Village, that means 30 mins by foot. At first, we wabted to book our hotel directly in the village, but it turns out that booking Diwanara hotel was the best thing that could have happened. The host, who grew up there and is member of the Lahu-Minority is so warm-hearted, he sits in front of his house drinking tea the whole day and we would never leave or come back without being invited to drink some of his homemade tea. He has tea fields 10 mins away from his hotel, and he even took us there to teach us how to collect the tea. Also he cooks breakfast for his guests, which is just delicious. For everybody who, besides the quite commercialised Wengji Village, also wants to have an authentic experience, we can warmly recommend Diwanara hotel.
