Botlierskop Private Game Reserve

Amazing private reserve. The attention to detail is everywhere. Pity they don’t do the game barbecue in the evenings though…

Very nice and beautiful place, our daughters made all the arrangements and invited us on our anniversary, it was an amazing place, even though we drove more than 5 hours from Cape town but it was well worth it, the hotel, the safari part all great, also they had the reservations halfboard breakfast and dinner, the food, the service were outstanding, Kavin our safari guide was very pleasant person providing lots of info (his accent was not easy for my wife to follow..haha), at the end he provided snacks and drinks at area overlooking the great reserve, there is a fireplace in the rooms with logs and starter with a match, with a beautiful view from your room and nice outside seating, after dinner they had an outside fireplace with seating around it as the weather was cold it was nice and very quiet

We visited for a 2 night all inclusive stay. Our time on the reserve totally exceeded our expectations. Wonderful animals, superbly attentive and welcoming staff and a magical feel of being in the wild. Our trip kicked off with a view of 4/5 elephants lazily wandering below the accommodation (fabulous) on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Great start and just got better. We saw the big 5 plus a whole host more. Room, accommodations, spa 10 Food and wines 10 Animals 10 Staff 10 Honestly, if you want the safari experience - we 100% recommend. Not sure you can do this any better. Well done.

Zwei Tage Gamefarm in diesem Resort war ein Highlight unserer Reise. Tolles Zimmer mit Aussicht und Privatem Jacuzzi. Die Drives waren sehr gut organisiert und wir haben ausser dem Leoparden alle Tiere im Resort gesehen. die Mitarbeitenden waren alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen wieder. Das Resort ist sehr gepflegt und gut angeordnet. Neben den Tieren ist auch die Natur wunderschön.

What a wonderful place to see spectacular wildlife, eat fabulous food, stay in beautiful accommodation and have amazing staff around you. Stayed three nights in a luxury tented lodge which was really beautifully decorated with a view of the mountains and river. Would love to have had a feather pillow but apart from that it really was superb. Help yourself to free port in the room which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was wonderful and varied. The evening meals were wonderful with good choice. The game drives were absolutely fantastic with the very knowledgeable and experienced Alex at the helm who told interesting stories and provided facts about the area and the animals. We saw lions, elephants, buffalo’s, rhino, cheetah, giraffe and so much more. Thank you Alex for making it a memorable experience. The reserve itself is absolutely stunning; very green and mountainous with a river running right through the middle of it. Sat relaxing by the pool we were privileged to view elephant and rhino grazing and drinking from the river. What an experience. I used the spa and had an amazing hot stone massage and facial which was carried out by the wonderful Janet…hands of an angel!! Thank you to all the staff who were friendly and professional. A shout out for the cheery and helpful Jecklin (apologies for spelling) My only one gripe and I am sorry to mention it but it was just that it happened as we arrived so made me worry what the rest of our experience would be like (obviously didn’t need to have worried) We were offered a welcome drink and after a five hour drive was needed. I asked for water and my husband asked for a cold beer. They said the beer would be charged to the room which just seemed daft. To end on a high, I would recommend this place to anyone. Do not hesitate. We will return. Thank you to all.

We visited this Game Reserve with mixed expectations. Our main reason for visiting was the Game Drive (not accommodation or food) Unfortunately it does not live up to the 5 star reviews and have to say disapointing in comparison to Shamwari or visiting the Kruger.
