Mayfair on Sea, Morjim Beach, Goa

The restaurant is lesser than a 1 star property in terms of service and food. The food quality is horrible. Prawns are stale. Restaurant staff does not know which order to take or which order to deliver. Cheff has no idea which fish he uses in his dishes. Sometimes he put a stale fish tikka and just put in a curry to make fish curry. Further the restaurant staff hardly provides any service.

This resort has a superb location with direct beach access. Sitting adjacent to the beautiful Morjim beach, this resort has a small swimming pool & a restaurant taken over by Farzi cafe. The rooms are clean, comfortable & well maintained. There is a certain "sewage" type smell prevailing in the pool side area, which I reported to reception. Our toilet also had a similar smell, though that was rectified. There are numerous activities within a walking distance, such as enjoying a walk on the prestine Beach, swimming in the ocean. There is also great food on the beach, with some famous shacks nearby. In the evening water activities like jet scooter / banana boat etc is enjoyable though vpricey. If that smell can be removed, this is a good option to use as a base to enjoy one of goa's relatively cleaner beaches.

Excellent size of the room to accommodate my husband, two kids and I. 5 steps away was the pool, another 5 steps was the restaurant and 10 steps away was the beach. La Plage and Thallasa were a 10 min walk from the beach. The hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful. The restaurant was recently taken over by Farzi cafe so the food esp breakfast was underwhelming. But there are plenty of food options around the hotel so that is hardly an issue.

This hotel is absolute garbage. There was sewage smell around few villas due to faulty stp plant, They changed catering to Farzi cafe but it was pathetic. Service is very poor. Breakfast quality and spread is average. No coffee was available as machine was broken. New year party service and food of farzi was bang average. Linen and mattresses quality is sub standard. Wait staff was happy to decline orders citing time to cook. Swimming pool has plastic flooring as they don’t have permission to build proper pool. Rampant mosquitoes throughout the property. Only postive is the view from cafe is great as it’s located on the sea. Mayfair has tarnished its reputation with this property. Clueless management and I felt pity for untrained wait staff.

Perfect laid-back staycation destination. Food is super yummy and staff courteous. Located bang on the best beach of goa you'd definitely want to revisit this place. Some renovation work in progress around restaurant area that must be temporary. Approach road to resort is really in bad shape probably due to some govt approval reasons. Overall nice 5 star stay !

Service was excellent, the people in mayfair took great care of all the services they provided. Beautiful rooms and surroundings. The only con - there was work going on in the restaurant area. It made a lot of noise and was disturbing. They could have informed us before.
