My wife, Lynn, and I stayed at this charming boutique hotel, because we wanted to be in the “old town”, and are so glad we did. From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by Enmanuel, we were treated like special guests. We were shown to the Dona Juana room which was beautiful and had a nice terrace with a view of the square. Later that day Roxana helped us navigate the area. Both Enmanuel and Roxana gave us excellent restaurant suggestions. Breakfast was personalized to our wishes and served in the lovely dining room. The entire stay was perfect especially because of the amazing treatment we received from the staff. I highly recommend Alma Historica Boutique Hotel when in Montevideo.

Uma bela construção antiga, remodelada e com belíssima decoração, repleta de detalhes. Os quartos evocam os nomes de artistas, escritores, muito confortáveis. A localização é perfeita, próxima a uma belíssima praça e vizinha a um belo museu. Há diversas opções de ótimos restaurantes nas imediações. A equipe é extremamente atenciosa e se desdobra para oferecer a melhor estadia. O café da manhã é de poucas opções porem absolutamente delicioso. A biblioteca é confortável e ótima para leitura, TV ou alguma necessidade profissional.

Excelente la atención, la ubicación. El Hotel limpio y en perfecto estado, se respira un ambiente de calidez, cultura y buen gusto. La plaza de en frente es muy silenciosa y hay buenos restaurantes alrededor. Esperamos repetir la próxima vez que vengamos a Montevideo.

Lovely Hotel Great Service Great People Good Breakfast! Nice room on second floor for friends and family to have a drink and talk about the day. Staff wonderful. Interesting Free art museum across the street. Very Helpful Staff. Room was very nice. We could see the bridges from our window.

Right on a small square in the middle of the Old City, this gem makes you feel like you have gone back in time. It is old world glorious, unique, and well located. The room was large, and thoughtfully laid out with historical and thematic pieces. I had a 20's microphone and stand in mine. Very cool Breakfast was phenomenal, and a great start to each day. The best of all, was the staff. I lost my cell phone on my 2nd day, and AT&T did not allow me to activate my backup. Each of the staff (two gentleman and one gentlelady) took as a personal mission to ease the pain of such a loss on vacation. My basic Spanish helped in the stores, but all 3 had excellent English and more importantly a huge heart to help me out. What could have ruined my vacation, became a reminder of why I travel in the first place. To meet people and share experiences. There was no limit to what the staff tried to get me up and running with another phone, but also their cool and calm demeanor allowed me to stay in the right vacation mindset. Frankly they made the trip, and allowed me to continue with my plan on to Argentina. Danny

Tudo é perfeito no Alma Histórica. Um hotel que abraça a alma. Toda a equipe prestativa e gentil, quartos maravilhosos, confortáveis, camas, ducha, roupa de cama e banho excelentes. Café da manhã impecável, tudo feito no hotel. Todas as instalações do hotel são agradáveis. Não deixe de ir a biblioteca e ao rooftop.

Nice enough hotel. The rooms are clean and well furnished though on the small side (not unexpected, heritage usually implies old buildings and they tend to have small rooms). Bath is well appointed though a bit cramped. Excellent full breakfast with fresh fruits, eggs made to order, and plenty of breads, meats, cheese etc. Staff is mostly helpful though, surprisingly, not as knowledgeable about what to do in Montevideo (though, to be honest, there is precious little to do there in the first place!). Ordered taxis, arrived on time. The front door was always opened with a smile. The roof top has great views of the old town. The location in the heart of the old town is great and a short walk to the ferry terminal. If I visit Montevideo again, I'll probably end up staying right here.

Amazing Hotel - Amazing! Amazing Staff, Amazing Ameneties, Amazing Breakfast, Amazing location with surrounding park, palace de Artes and close to Jacinto restaraunt. Everything about the Alma Histórica Boutique Hotel is simply amazing. We stayed for the weekend, traveling over on Thursday on Buquebus from Buenos Aires. Saw all the sites in Montevideo and then went to Colonia del Sacramento on Saturday. Flew back on Argentina Airlines on Sunday. Amazing experience and don't miss Jacinto. That restaraunt is insanely delicious. Did we mention "amazing" enough? One of our most memorable and best weekend trips ever! Would come back anytime and stay at the Alma in Montevideo for how nice the staff is, the beauty of the property and the location. Simply amazing!
