Cabañas Valle Campanas - Monteverde, Costa Rica

Het domein is mooi. De huisjes zijn qua basiscomfort in orde. De matrassen waren echter versleten en te zacht. Het grote minpunt was de loslopende hond op het domein die mij helaas een knauw gaf met als gevolg een grote blauwe plek. Het ontbijt wordt in het huisje geserveerd waardoor het niet meer zo warm is.

Prachtig familiehuis, heel aardige gastheer die enthousiast vertelt over Monteverde. Ruime badkamer. Ontbijt is heerlijk en keuze uit 3 en wordt in je huisje gebracht. Mooie tuin met uitzicht. Hond is super rustig en komt met je spelen of naast je liggen op je terras. Op loopafstand van centrum Santa Elena (heuvel op) en supermarkt.

We rented cabins 1, 2 and 3 for a family vacation. All three cabins were in pristine condition and looked almost brand new. The grounds are lovingly maintained and so beautiful to explore. Breakfast was a delight on our patios with plenty of bird watching and one can’t beat coffee in the hammock. Roy took care of all our sight seeing and was a wonderful conversationalist. Our party of seven did not have a car, but we didn’t need one. Roy arranged transportation for our outings and called taxis for dinner. And, the taxis in Santa Elena were very inexpensive. Highly recommend! This place is a gem!

Such a fantastic place to stay! Our cabin was amazing with huge rooms, 4 double beds and 2 en-suites and a kitchen with great coffee in the morning, they also deliver breakfast to your cabin in the morning which is lovely. The grounds are great with a trail and walk around the areas they grow their own veg. Slightly depressing “aviary” with sad looking birds but apart from that this place is great and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for two nights while exploring Monte Verde. The location was fantastic - we could walk into town for dinner (beware the way there very much uphill - great for us but may be difficult for some), but back at the hotel it was quiet and the grounds were beautiful. It felt like a real escape. Our kids loved the dogs and the hammock, and raved about the gallo pinto. Because the property is big, the cabins are pretty spread out, so we didn’t worry about our kids being kids and making some noise. The folks who run the place are lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we head back to Monteverde!

My husband turned 62 and look what these lovely people made on our bed! The welcome was also very compleet and friendly. We can highly recommend this place. The room is clean and the breakfast wil be brought to your room. 👍🏻

The grounds are fantastic, full of tropical orchids, plants and birds. They also have trails that rival that of the local parks. I photographed Motmots, hummingbirds, jays and warblers while there. The breakfast is great and well worth the cost. The street hides the beauty of the grounds, so do not be fooled by what it looks like from the street. I wish we had stayed longer.

Es handelt sich hier nicht um ein Hotel im klassischen Sinne sondern um einzeln stehende und liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienhäuser. Diese Unterkünfte verteilen sich auf einem parkähnlichen und abgeschlossenen Gelände mitten in der Natur, mit eigenen Spazierwegen und einer Aussichtsplattform, von der aus z. B. der Sonnenuntergang beobachtet werden kann. Die Gäste fühlen sich hier sofort willkommen, denn die von einer sympathischen Familie betriebene Anlage ist mit viel Liebe gestaltet worden. Wir sind als Gäste äußerst liebevoll behandelt worden. Während unseres Aufenthalts hatte meine Frau ihren Geburtstag. Eigens dafür wurde ein traumhaftes Frühstück mit einem selbstgebackenen Kuchen gestaltet und dazu mit einem Geburtstagsständchen serviert. Das war für uns ein unvergessliches Erlebnis und hat uns sehr gerührt. Allein deshalb würden wir gerne noch einmal wiederkommen. Die Unterkunft ist fußläufig bis zum kleinen Ortszentrum erreichbar, wobei ca. 20 Minuten Fußmarsch einkalkuliert werden muss. Allerdings ist das nächstgelegene Restaurant (das SODA „La Cocinita de Lety“) etwas schneller erreichbar. Hier haben wir jeden Abend gegessen und waren vom Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis begeistert. Unsere Unterkunft ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für eine Vielzahl von Unternehmungen in einer der schönsten Landschaften Costa Ricas. Wir können einen Aufenthalt vollumfänglich empfehlen.

We had a wonderful stay. Our cabana was perfect for our family of four - the staff were very friendly and the grounds and views were great. We also saw a lot of wildlife from our place: hummingbirds, mot-mots, agouti, geckos and beautiful butterflies. Our children really enjoyed hanging out in the hammock on the upper deck, and we were able to enjoy a few family meals using the stovetop/kitchen area. The view from the sunset deck was very nice
