Hotel le Cairn

We were looking for a budget-type stay for myself, my daughter, my son and his girlfriend as a trip for his 21st birthday. My daughter and my son's girlfriend had not skied before - my wife can't stand skiing so chose to stay at home! Le Cairn has a very relaxed, homely feel and the rooms are basic but well presented; most with mountain views. In a great location as only a short walk from the Diable chair lift, our ski hire shop (below The Shackelton bar) and the town centre bars/shops. The hotel bar serves a small, but delicious, selection of Belgian beers (along with wine, spirits etc). The usual continental breakfast did not disappoint either. There is a secure ski storage room and a terrace outside, perfect for getting kitted up into ski boots etc. There are steps up to the entrance, so not suitable if have pushchairs etc! I believe the chef can offer bespoke evening dinners for groups and I heard that the quality is excellent.

Très bien situé mais vraiment pas propre. Toilette sale, baignoire sale. Nous avons pris 2 chambres, dans la 1ère pas de lumière côté lit y en avait que dans le couloir, la télévision ne fonctionnait pas, et l'écran était plus un écran d'ordinateur que un écran de télé.

Van 29/12 tot 06/01/2024 in hotel le cairn in Les deux Alpes gezeten. Wij werden alle dagen verwend met een zalig ontbijtje en ‘s avonds een lekkere 3 gangen menu. Het personeel was echt vriendelijk en de manager, … niets is teveel voor deze jongeman. Ik schrok eigenlijk wel een beetje toen ik hoorde dat dit maar een 2 sterren hotel was. Ik waande me minstens in een 3 sterren… Dikke pluim voor heel het team. Ook de jongeman, onze chauffeur, die ons veilig naar het hotel bracht. Iedereen was echt zo behulpzaam !

Bonjour Je ne vous conseil pas cette Hôtel horrible, à revoir très fortement pour le prix !!! La literie une horreur , ainsi que la pression du pommeau de douche!!! Comment est ce possible d’accueillir des hôtes avec de la moisissure sur les murs, ainsi que dans la baignoire? Hôtel très bruyant, ainsi que le bruit du radiateur dans la nuit un cauchemar. La porte fenêtre qui donne sur le balcon ce ferme juste avec un vieux verrou,,, Le petit déjeuner il faut arriver tôt sinon vous n’avez même plus un jus d’orange,,, Vraiment à éviter,

Dommage qu'il y aie plusieurs chose à revoir car l'emplacement et le personnel est top. Mais pour ce qui est du confort cela est à revoir, entre les moisissures, l'eau qui coule orange, la télé qui fonctionne pas et j'en passe. Si vous cherchez un logement pratico pratique sans payer cher alors vous êtes au bon endroit mais sinon.. Passez votre chemin.

We stayed three nights at this hotel when skiing in Les Deux Alpes. Firstly, most hotels around the ski mountains in the region require a minimum of 7 night booking. This hotel gladly accepted our booking of 3 nights. It was perfectly located in the village of Les Deux Alpes, close to ski activities, shops, supermarkets and restaurants. If you have the room facing the mountains, the view was breathtaking. Coming from Grenoble by bus, you can get off at Maison Du Tourisme stop and the hotel is 5 minutes easy walk from there. The staff/ receptionists were always helpful and friendly, allowing us to store our luggage in the luggage room. We were a group of six, occupying three double bedrooms. The rooms were basic, but ensuite. However, cleanliness could be improved as the rooms were not serviced everyday. There were no kettles or tea/ coffee making facilities, but you can buy your water from nearby supermarkets. In some rooms, the heaters however were too strong at night and the room could be too warm to sleep. The buffet breakfast was included in our rate and it was actually surprisingly nice. Came with limited selection of hot foods (scramble eggs), yogurts, breads, fruits and nice juices, it was enough to fill our stomach before setting off to ski. This hotel is only two star rated, but considering how expensive accommodation in Les Deux Alpes during skiing season, it was not cheap either.
